Steeped in history, this lovely town boasts a castle, nature reserve and wonderful walks long the River Clwyd, all of which can be enjoyed without the need for getting in the car. For golf enthusiasts, the local course is less than a mile away.

Venture over to the iconic seaside towns of Rhyl and Prestatyn or a little further up the coast to the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno, recently famed for its mountain goats.
