It was fairly difficult to choose the right hotel online. It turns out that the location was good and central, better than all the many other hotels I saw online then in person. The rooms are clean and nice. Again, from what I saw of the other hotels, I'm glad I stayed here. The reception was terrible disappointment though. The staff was absolutely useless. They could give no real answers to any questions. regarding anything like parking or restaurants or about sight-seeing or anything. Not what I would expect from a hotel in the price category.

Very centrally located in downtown Reykjavik. Friendly and helpful staff. Sauna and hot tube are located in the hotel next door and you have to go there via the sidewalk no direct connection inside.

A highly enjoyable stay!
We had a great stay at Apothek hotel! The room and bed were both very comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is amazing - we can highly recommend the tasting menu! There were a couple of issues with things in the room/hotel not working properly (sauna door in the spa, safe in the room), and there can be some noise from the nearby clubs at night, but otherwise everything was excellent.

Buchung mit Kinder
Wir sind als Familie im Urlaub mit 2 Kinder, die Buchung über die Applikation hat es uns nicht erlaubt einen Zimmer mit 2 Kinder vorzunehmen. Das Hotel wollte uns einen Upgrade zu vollem Preis verrechnen. Nach viele Mails hin und her war das Hotel kulant genug mit einem Deluxe Zimmer und einem Zusatzbett entgegenzukommen.

Sehr schönes Hotel
Wurden einige Tage vor unserer Ankunft vom Hotel Apotek ins 50m entfernte Schwesterhotel Borg (gleicher Betreiber) umgebucht. Beide Hotels sprechen die gleiche Klientel an. Wir waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Hotelmitarbeiter sind gut geschult und sehr freundlich. Beide Hotels in sehr schönen Gebäuden, mit sehr geschmackvoller und eleganter Einrichtung. Sehr sauber, gute Pflegeprodukte. Das sich im Erdgeschoss des Hotels Apotek befindliche, gleichnamige Restaurant war das einzige, was etwas enttäuschte. Hochgelobt für seine Küche war das Essen zwar sehr gut. Man sollte aber auch nicht zu viel erwarten, was auch für Atmosphäre und Mitarbeiter gilt. Die Zielgruppe ist im Restaurant eine andere als im Hotel.

Hotel liegt sehr zentral in der Innenstadt. Erreichbarkeit sehr gut. Leider ist der Kasten für die Bekleidung sehr klein. Es sind zwar Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen als Komfort vorhanden, dadurch aber der halbe Platz im Kleiderkasten belegt.

tolle lage des hotels. design und einrichtung super, allerdings ist das zimmer sehr klein. sehr wenig platz um kleider zu verstauen. reicht aus wenn man nur ein zwei tage dort ist, wenn man aber wie wir eine woche dort ist reicht das nicht. die fenster sind nicht schalldicht, in der nacht kann das stören, da sich das hotel in der mitte der stadt befindet. Modern und Luxuriös Renoviertes Hotel
Ich habe Reykjavik für ein paar Tage besucht, um an einem Computerspielekongress teilzunehmen. Das von mir gebuchte Zimmer war klein, aber sehr angenehm auf 4-Sterne+ Niveau ausgestattet. Sehr angenehm ist, dass es im Hotel eine Aufbereitung des Warmwassers gibt, die den in Reykjavik sonst allgegenwärtigen Schwefelgeruch des warmen Wassers unterbindet. Der Service an der Rezeption war stets tadellos und sehr zügig.

Stilvolles schönes Hotel direkt in der City

The hotel is in such a great location with easy access to everything. The restaurant was excellent and also right across the road is a food hall with lots of different restaurants to choose from. We did breakfast included which was delicious daily and an easy way to start our busy days. Highly recommend

Great location, can walk everywhere in the city from hotel. Rooms are a good size and I like the fact that you pick what days you want housekeeping so it’s convenient. The only thing I would suggest changing is that the main entrance doors get locked at midnight so you have to knock and wait for reception to come and open it. It would be better if you could get in via a PIN code or key card swipe. Otherwise great hotel

Not all front desk was not too friendly overall but it could be a cultural difference. The location was excellent. The room was so tiny, not sure how people with 2 suitcases can comfortably fit in here. We luckily only stayed there for one night. The bathroom was outstanding! Excellent lighting and the water pressure in the rain shower and the products were the top notch.

Great hotel
Great service throughout. Fast check in. Arrived 2 hours before normal check in time and the room was ready. Lovely clean room Breakfast buffet was good Dinner menu was exquisite and food was delicious Great location also. Close to everything needed.

Great location! The staff at the front desk are not great. We arrived after a long trip, checked in and went to our room and there was no power. We went back down and the woman told us we had to put our key card in a slot in the room to get power- she said that’s how Europe is.. I live in US, have EU citizenship and found this rude. I told her that she should have let us know… she didn’t apologize. I was never given info on laundry until I called and asked. When is asked prices, they had no idea, called me later with price by item. Also, on the weekends the bar next door is so loud that we were on the top floor but it sounded like the dj was in our room until 5am. You have access to the spa at their sister hotel borg next door, which is lovely. We were not given a key or told services. Luckily I had booked prior to coming and the staff at hotel borg were much more helpful. The masseuse there was AMAZING- highly recommend. I would suggest staying at hotel borg, better vibe and nicer staff. Anytime we asked for a taxi or anything at Apotek they seemed annoyed and had no knowledge. The hotel was clean enough, restaurant morning buffet was super expensive and literally start closing and pulling food in right at 10 when they close. Even if you just sat down and 9:45, and no almond milk my whole week there. I had to buy it at the store literally feet away in a convenient store. Disappointing experience overall but we still loved Reykjavík. Thank you Marron for booking our massages!

Our experience was good. Only stayed 1 night plus early check in. Older facility thought well maintained and quite clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was very comfortable, and location is close to shops and restaurants.
