Who needs a pool with a beach like this? Awesome coral right in front of the hotel! Bring snorkeling gear and please don't stand on coral! Good is delicious, staff is nice! Rent a scooter and explore!

Baulich gutes Resort, nur das Personal sollte weg!
Minus-Sterne kann ich ja leider nicht vergeben – da wären 5 fällig!!!!! Noch nie wurde ich in einem Hotel derart feindselig empfangen. Meine schriftlichen Hotels.com –Buchungsbestätigung für early-check-in um 8:00 wurde schlichtweg abgelehnt: das hat es in diesem Hotel noch nie gegeben und wird es bei dieser Rezeption auch nie geben. Erst nach einem regelrechten Aufstand unsererseits erhielten wir dann unser Apartment mit mehr als 2 Stunden Verspätung! (Was aber immer noch 3 Stunden früher als regulärer Check-in war, andere arme Tröpfe saßen beachtungslos volle 5 Stunden in der Lobby und durften warten und warten und warten – nicht einmal Strandhandtücher bekamen sie, der Hinweis, welche Toilettenlagen geräumiger und daher zum Umziehen geeigneter wären, unterblieb auch! Man bedenke, dass wir einen 11-Stunden-Flug auch L.A. hinter uns hatten.) Das ganze Personal in diesem Resort ist unfreundlich, Gäste-Bedürfnisse sind denen schlichtweg egal; jede Serviceleistung muss man sich fast ertrotzen – das Organisieren eines Leihwagens ist schon eine Zumutung, udgl. Strandhandtücher muss man sich als Bittsteller von der Rezeption holen und dabei anstellen, wie in der Schulkantine. Und so ein Service, nachdem dieses Resort seit mehr als 8 Monaten auf meinem Geld saß. Auch das Hotel-eigene Restaurant lässt – in Anbetracht der verlangten Preise – mehr als zu wünschen übrig. Gutes, niveauvolles Essen ist auf diese Insel sowieso Mangelware, aber in einem Hotel dieser Preisklasse ?!?!?

Fantastic location, great beach out front. It's an adults only facility. Tropical breakfast included and shuttles to and from airport (need to pay). It's close to airport and bus stops right outside. Rooms are fully equipped if you want to cook anything. Two great swimming pools, happy hour, staff wonderful and helpful with booking various things like transport. There is a small store, alcohol shop and bakery very close if you need supplies or town is a very short bus ride away for a bigger supermarket.

We three ladies had a lovely peaceful stay at Sunset Resort. Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious, clean and well-equipped, with great air-con. Two pools, always sparkling clean, and wow what a stunning beach/lagoon area (plenty of sun-loungers scattered amongst the palm trees). Convenient location for car hire, a few restaurants nearby, bus stop outside, 10 minutes from airport. All staff we met were super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was simple but more than enough (fruits, cereals, toast, juice, tea, coffee).. If I return to Rarotonga, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. West Coast location gives the best sunsets!

Tranquill break in Beautiful setting
We had a wonderfully relaxing 11 nights at Sunset Resort in January 2024. We had a studio beachfront unit which gave us a beautiful view across the lagoon. The room was quiet, bed very comfortable and air con very effective. The bathroom was well equipped with toiletries.The staff were welcoming & friendly and went out of their way to help us. The pools were great and being able to swim and snorkel right out from the resort was very convenient. Breakfasts were good and there were a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Hope to go back.

The resort is nice and clean with a very good location. The people are very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. My only suggestion is that their hours at the front desk to be longer. The front desk didn't open up until 8:30 AM which was a problem for me because I was there on business and would leave every morning at 7:30 AM and not return until the front desk was closed again.

We'll be back!!
Fantastic place to stay. Great location being only a few minutes to town, and with a very good bakery right across the road, but the big bonus is the staff - super-friendly, helpful and professional. Hailey at Reception recommended a restaurant to us (Vaima) which was outstanding, and Josie makes the best Mai Tais on the island - she is an artist! Some other folks commented that the suites at the front of the property were a bit noisy because of traffic, but the suites we stayed in by the main pool didn't have that issue. 2 Swimming pools is definitely an extra attraction, and they never seemed overcrowded. Add in the hammocks and recliners on the beachfront and this is a great place to relax and enjoy the service.

Beautiful property with super friendly staff. The only draw back was the internet signal was not good at all in the villas. We had to either sot by the pool or got to the provate beach and use 3G/4G. Also could have a bit more variety in breakfast.

Small, friendly and beachfront
Really plesant resort, small and friendly, right on the beach. Our studio unit was very well equipped with plenty of crockery and glassware. The beach is best for swimming mid-tide but there's 2 pools for the rest of the time. The pool bar and Anchorage restaurant on site are great. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Loved the hotel, such a pleasant place to stay. Staff were so helpful, they answered all our questions and helped us out with a trip we had booked that we were having issues with. Can not praise the staff enough and the room was lovely although I have to say the rooms on the roadside are very noisy with the traffic (its the main road around the island) but after the first night we got used to it. Loved the beach.. the pool by the bar.. the onsite restaraunt. The bakery across the road was so handy, we used to go to breakfast in the hotel then across to the bakery to pick up lunch to have on the beach lol.

We had a fabulous 5 days at the Sunset Resort. The facilities are brilliant, the pools and sitting areas beautiful. The staff are so friendly and kind. The tropical breakfast was fresh and delicious each morning. The beach is spectacular. The accommodation is clean, perfectly furnished and the beds very comfortable. Air conditioning is much needed and effective. The grounds are beautiful Would recommend

Our stay at Sunset Resort was amazing. Fabulous grounds , accommodation, locality, snorkelling, wonderful friendly and efficient staff, excellent service and attention to detail, kitchens with everything you need if you wish to self cater, happy hour 6 days a week at the Birdcage was a great way to mix and mingle and get to know other guests at the Resort, owners Kevin and Cathy so welcoming and engaging . Great location. Staff were amazing. Helpful friendly nothing to make trouble. Gardens were beautiful and always tidy. rooms always keeped clean by staff. We enjoyed the hole experience. Amazing. Maded great cocktails

Could not fault this beautiful resort, the facility was immaculate for cleaniness, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food was so fresh and yummy. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Some Kayaks for use in the lagoon would be really lovely if available.

Enjoyed the quiet environment, access to 2 pools, an area off the beach to snorkel and view the sea life. Friendly helpful staff especially Heleana. Food options very limited with access to a cooked breakfast inconsistent. Lunch menu very limited. Loved the cocktails. Easy access to other resorts, town and activities with a hire car.

Look nowhere else
Lovely small resort, great location and friendly staff. Pools are fantastic, great reef outside to snorkel. Rooms were a good size, comfy. This resort has a lot of repeat and loyal business, which says a lot. Food at the Anchorage was ok, not great, not terrible but staff are awesome. Birdcage bar is awesome and cocktails were on point. The wifi is useless and I seemed to spend more time trying to get online than being online. All in all a great place to stay for couples, highly recommended.

Sunset was a very pleasant place to stay, the restaurant was very good and staff there were amazing. My criticism would be the beach needs to be cleared of rocks and coral to make it easier to walk on.
