Remodeled Oceanfront Cottage Directly on the Warm Calm Caribbean

Ocean Shire is a tranquil two-cottage property tucked away in Rainbow Bay. Ocean Shire sits off a quiet road with much charm and Bahamian beauty, revealed by the coconut trees, many varieties of psalm trees and at least 8 species of flowering plants. Its setting is on the Bight side (west side) of the island so the waters are often gentle and smooth. The views from the massive deck are breathtaking. Sunsets can only be described as magical and star gazing often referred to as unimaginable. As you gaze at the ocean, stars and sunsets you hear the whispering yellow pines and the soft waves on the ocean shore. Ocean Shire is a lovely 10 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) from Rainbow Bay Beach, a stunning beach with calm water and great snorkeling.

The sea life at Ocean Shire is abundant with snorkeling just steps away. Sea turtles, dolphins, grouper, angel fish, parrot fish, starfish and many more are seen often off the shore. There are many species of birds flying by and touch their wings on the ocean, or dive down for food. Needless to say, there is plentiful wildlife to view. There are ancient crustations to be explored on the shore as well as shells, sea glass and more. As the tide comes and goes there are new things to explore on the shore.

Outdoor amenities are plentiful at Ocean Shire. There is an outdoor shower for that island shower experience under the blue skies, palm trees and whispering pines. Three single kayaks and a two-person raft are available for adventures on the ocean. Snorkeling gear and fishing poles are available for those who want to snorkel or try your hand at catching a surprising variety of fish. Also, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach towels and baskets are available if you want to venture off the property and explore the beaches of Eleuthera. There is a concrete pad with lounge chairs and a large umbrella sitting right at the oceans edge to enjoy sunbathing, napping or stargazing.

Each cottage at Ocean Shire has its own personality. Cottage 1 has a full kitchen with all the cooking utensils, microwave, fridge, washing machine, blender, mixer and toaster. There is a full bathroom as well at cottage one. Cottage One also offers both west and south side sliding glass doors to watch the ocean, sunsets and relax on the sectional couch that is quite cozy and comfortable. It also offers a queen size bed where you will see the ocean upon awakening.

Cottage Two has a very large bathroom with double sinks and a large shower. There is a queen size bed, futon, mini fridge and an incredible ocean view. Both cottages are studios with vaulted plantation ceilings. Each have AC and a central ceiling fan that cool you off after coming in from the beautiful Eleuthera sunshine.

Amenities at Ocean Shire include AC throughout, superfast Starlink WIFI, satellite TV, washer-dryer, a gas grill, and two paddle boards.

Rainbow Bay is located 15 minutes north of Governer's Harbor Airport. It is south of North Eleuthera airport about 30 minutes. James Cistern is the nearest town to the south and offers many restaurants, bakery, sea glass hunting on its beach and the locals have celebrations frequently. The nearest town to the north is Hatch Bay. It too offers restaurants, a dock where goods arrive from other islands including the US. A great place to go to experience where history has taken place for imports. Big Rock grocery store is just 3 minutes from Ocean Shire and offers friendly service, fresh vegetables and fruit and island made goodies.

Rainbow Bay itself offers a renowned beach that is breath taking. It is located blocks from Ocean Shire. Rainbow Bay also offers its own restaurant that has incredible views, food, a bar and local conversation.
