„Cute place which was comfortable and quaint and we used the indoor fireplace! Fishing didn’t pan out like others luck at all but we still enjoyed the cottage very much. Surprisingly quiet that weekend which was fabulous. Host was thoughtful and communicative and couldn’t ask for more in that regard. We usually stay in larger more secluded lake homes but this was so close to the Chicago Northshore (just over an hour) that the drive was a breeze. Close to town, the distillery, restaurants… ...

„Cottage on the Canal did not disappoint! Grant was very reachable and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very clean. There were plenty of activities to do, but just relaxing outside on the deck was wonderful. Grant even left a bottle of wine to greet us when we walked in. Highly recommend staying here!“

„Awesome location, so convenient to get to all of the places I had planned for my wedding weekend- art museum, Great Lakes distillery, urban ecology center, etc. Parking in the back is lovely since street parking can be tricky around there. We used the upstairs kitchen for a getting ready space and used the other wing staircase as a “bridesmaids first look” space. Having this as a part of our weekend was a game changer, it was great having the wedding party all in one place!“
