Health hazard and completely run down
Unfortunately there is nothing positive to report from this hotel. It starts we the lobby being completely understaffed. All guests have long wait times, sometimes the reservations got lost. The WiFi does not work across the facility. The Hotel management does not openly admit that. Water in the rooms has a weird smell and taste, the rooms are in horrible shape and are infested with cockroaches. This hotel is health hazard and should be closed. It is obvious that the hotel buys additional reviews to maintain an 8.0/10.0 rating. The truth is more around 3.0/10.0. I have reported this Expedia; since it is very obvious when comparing ratings or or rating on other websites

Ein altes abgewohntes Hotel. Schimmelige Dusche, kaputte Toilette, unsaubere Küche, nicht greinigter Kühlschrank, herabhängende Vorhänge. Bettwäsche war sauber. Keine Frühstücksmöglichkeit im Hotel. Kein Aufenthaltsraum. Schmutziger Pool. Auch bei Landesüblichen Verhältnissen habe ich kein Verständnis für diese Zustände.

Das schlimmste Hotel, in dem ich jemals war (und ich war schon in einigen Hotels dieser Welt). Der Zusatz "Deluxe" ist schon frech. Das Zimmer war verdreckt, heruntergekommen und teilweise beschädigt. ICH KANN NUR DRINGEND VON DIESEM HOTEL ABRATEN!!!! BUCHEN SIE SICH EIN SCHÖNERES, SAUBERES ZIMMER IRGENDWO. Ich war zum Glück nur 5 Tage hier. Wäre es ein längerer Urlaub gewesen, hätte ich vor Ort noch das Hotel gewechselt!

Das Tropicana war generell sehr nett, es hat einen schönen Pool in der Mitte der Anlage doch leider war dort die meiste Zeit nur Schatten, für Kinder ist das sicherlich gut. Online waren Bilder von einem Fitnessstudio, dazugehöriger Strandliegen und einem Frühstücksbuffet zu sehen. Leider gibt es die ersten zwei Punkte gar nicht ohne extern täglich mind. 10 Dollar dafür zu bezahlen und das Frühstück ist auch extern in wahlweise zwei Restaurants. Ich persönlich fand es sehr lecker aber sie sind nicht sehr flexibel mit der Getränkeauswahl. Es gibt nur Kaffee und Wasser dazu, alles andere kostet extra. In den Apartments gibt es eine Küchenzeile und somit Kochmöglichkeiten aber es ist so gut wie kein Geschirr und Töpfe vorhanden, das kann man sicherlich aber noch anfragen wenn man etwas benötigt. In allem war es trotzdem schön auch da es sehr nah am Strand, an Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Bars liegt, ich persönlich mag einfach diese Irreführung der Anzeige nicht.

This place is very beautiful. I think the best word to describe it is dreamy. When you are sitting in the main area the breeze is coming in off the water through three double doors and it is very calm and relaxing. The view is beautiful as well. We were greeted by a complimentary drink by a very helpful staff member. We were able to walk to our favorite areas all beach along. Great experience.

I can't say enough about the location and authenticity of this place. We had a lovely stay here and would recommend it to my friends. If you are a five star resort type person you could blow all your money down the beach but for a more laid back experience at a fraction of the price you are on the same beach as Melia and Barcelo where you can use the beach bars etc. I was a little concerned about safety before going but we had no concerns whatsoever. It was a completely safe site and neighbourhood.

Free breakfast was amazing at Kat's café. Clean room, but furniture is old, mattress hard, looks run down. Sink & tub taps were old & rusty, needs to be changed. Kitchen area is really old ,counter needs to be changed . But A/C worked great, plenty of hot water for showers , had full size fridge & balcony on 2nd floor with table & 2 chairs was amazing with pool view.

The area just outside the property is very crowded and noisy well into the night. The room has old / rusted fixtures in the bathroom. The refrigerator seems fairly new, but the microwave oven is a lot older and the sides are rusted. The AC unit is very outdated and struggles to cool the room adecuately.

A lot of things looked rundown giving. The AC didn't work properly a couple of times. My wife's room had connection issues with WIFI. The TV in her room didn't work. There was some flooding in both bathrooms.

All the plumbing is old and rusted. Their was no shower head, only a hand held which was full of soap deposit. Rusted pipes and sink facet was lose and moved around when you turn on/off the water. AC was old and all the directional blades were broken so could not adjust the flow. Go with low expectation and not a 3* resort.

I’m sorry but what you see on internet is not what you see at the property. I felt I was staying in a cheap motel. Old equipment, dirty kitchen and I didn't have soap to wash my hands and body and the shower was in terrible condition. The worst part to be in punta cana

Disgusting!!!!Didn't meet my standards, I didn’t read the reviews because Expedia usually have good hotel listings, so from now on I will read reviews before booking hotels. We checked out after 15minutes when we saw the room, we went to Grand Sirenis Hotel and Resort and this hotel was great! I don’t need to revise my review on Hotel Tropicana.

This “hotel” is TERRIBLE! In short… check in started at 2pm, we got into our room after 5pm. They gave us the wrong room, with beds that didn’t fit us. Our actual room was TERRIBLE… the bed kept falling apart during the night while we were sleeping so we had to get up to put it back together… the mattress and pillows are sooooo uncomfortable! The AC was barely working and was leaking water into the room. The floor and couch were SOAKED! We were mopping floors at 10pm during our vacation! The towels were horrendous and left you almost as wet as when you got out of the shower. Customer service was RUDE and that’s IF you were able to find them… it was a miracle if you found anyone in the front office and if tou did, they were anything but helpful. Rooms only get “cleaned” every 2 days. They provided NO hand soap, NO paper towels, 3 spoons and ONE single fork for our room. We regret the very moment we booked this “hotel”… definitely the one and only negative to our vacation was the entirety of the stay at this place The only positives about this place are its location, which is close to the beach, pharmacy, mini market, restaurants, etc, and the fact that the area felt fairly safe at all hours.

My tv didn’t work when you try to get help the staff say only speak Spanish they dont seem interested to help u then u have to go off the property for breakfast the bed was so low it give back pain. Then you have these guy outside the hotel selling cigars and females hate this place
