This is wonderful low key resort but it feels very much like “Cancun lite”… as if they would like to be Cancun but can’t quite figure out how to do it. Poolside drink service is very sparse, night time entertainment has a “second tier” feel to it compared to comparable resorts in Cancun as an example. And housecleaning service was terrible we needed to call every day at 4 just to get our room to be made up. On arrival We ordered extra pillows, from the front desk then through our butler, as we needed to use the fold out sofa, we called for two days asking, we went to the preferred check in for 2 days asking for pillows. We were even told by front desk staff that the resort didn’t have extra pillows on the property. All restaurants are first come first served, no reservations, even through use of butler. So everyone lines up, before the restaurants open at 6 to get seat, then as they go from closed to full in the first few minutes it means service is slow as everyone is ordering at the same time. The normal resort breakfast buffet was far better than the preferred club breakfast restaurant. Steak house and Asian restaurant were good (just slow). Beach is not usable if that’s what your looking for. After all this I actually enjoyed to property and we enjoyed that it wasn’t as busy and crowded as a Cancun resort, I would definitely stay again just monitor your expectations.. now using the Punta Cana airport…that’s another story lol..
