It is extremely disappointing that Expedia is promoting and selling packages to a property that is clearly rundown, outdated, and unprofessional. This experience has fallen far below any reasonable expectation for what was advertised.
I am especially frustrated that I paid for what was meant to be a memorable spring break trip for my son, only for it to be wasted at a resort that does not meet basic standards of quality or service.
The conditions at the property were unacceptable:
• The pools were visibly dirty
• The rooms had a persistent moldy odor
• Our room, in particular, reeked of cigarette smoke throughout the night
• The only meal we had at the resort (breakfast) was subpar and disappointing
Service was also inconsistent and, at times, unprofessional. While there were a couple of standout employees—specifically Rosemary and Ricardo—who made an effort to improve our experience, the majority of staff we encountered were unfriendly, unhelpful, and appeared disengaged.
For example, when we took the shuttle to the beach, we were immediately told by an employee, Emily, that despite being labeled as “VIP guests,” we were not allowed to eat or drink at the restaurant. This was both confusing and embarrassing. Fortunately, Ricardo stepped in to resolve the situation, but this kind of experience reflects a broader pattern everything felt unnecessarily difficult and poorly managed .
