We stayed as a family of four for four nights at Pedras do Mar. The rooms were clean, but the hotel as a whole feels a bit past its prime.
Breakfast was the main disappointment: served in a noisy basement room, with limited variety, and hot dishes such as eggs and bacon unfortunately cold. Using the beautiful restaurant area that is open for lunch and dinner would create a much more pleasant experience.
In our suite, some details fell short: missing towels and bathroom amenities on several days, a sliding door that didn’t close properly, and a kitchenette that was partly out of order. Service was correct but not particularly attentive – for example, our request for a late check-out was declined rather brusquely, and during check-out there was no feedback or friendly farewell.
We have stayed in several five-star hotels rated by local standards, and unfortunately this was the least convincing. For those who value attentive service and breakfast quality, we would recommend the Santa Barbara Eco Resort – a higher price per night, but in our view well worth
