With a lovely mix of modern and traditional decor, Bell Cottage perfectly suits this village often voted as one of the finest in England. The sitting room is cosy with an ornamental fireplace and looks out onto the street and up to the village square. Next door is the kitchen-diner with modern kitchen and farmhouse table.
Upstairs, the light master bedroom is a spacious king-size to the front, and to the rear Bedroom Two is smaller with a double bed and desk. Also on the first floor is the family bathroom with shower over bath. Outside via the kitchen, the rear garden has a patio, lawn and flower borders. It is an enclosed, safe space for children and dogs alike. The rear gate opens to a green alley that leads right to the village square.
LOCAL AREA:
There is a wide choice of pubs, cafes and tea rooms in Alfriston with plenty of drink and meal varieties to enjoy during your stay. Alfriston Clergy House, Firle Place, Drusillas Park, Cuckmere Haven, Seven Sisters Country Park, Middle Farm and Lewes Castle are all within easy reach and well worth a visit.

Should you prefer to guarantee any such request now, please add an additional night to the start and/or end of your booking.
- Pets: A maximum of 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at a cost of GBP25 each per week or part week. If the charge is not taken by this platform we will contact you after booking to arrange.
- Accessibility: There are 5 steps (15cm) with handrail to the front door and a step (10cm) over the front door threshold. One step (10cm) from kitchen into the rear garden. Standard staircase (with banister and standard height risers) to the bedrooms and bathroom (with shower over bath) on the first floor. Other internal floors are even and level, with no internal steps. This is intended as a guide only and accuracy is not guaranteed, please contact us if you need more info. Measurements are approx.
- Kitchen facilities: single electric fan oven, 4 plate induction hob, fridge-freezer, slimline dishwasher, kettle, toaster, cafetière. Washer-dryer in outhouse.
- Iron, ironing board, clothes airer, 1 hairdryer provided.
- Two infants up to age 2 are welcome in addition to the total guest capacity of this property. 1 travel cot (please bring bedding) and 1 highchair are available on request.
- There may be a little road noise from the master bedroom, but the window also allows great views towards the village square.
- One free allocated parking space is included in the nearby car park (100m/1min walk). Further free on-street parking is available 500m away, along with a free short-stay car park 100m away and a long-stay car park 100m away (GBP7 per day). Apart from the allocated space, all are subject to availability but we would normally expect you to be able to find space in one of these locations. Information is correct as of January 2023.
