„Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! „We loved staying at this lovely home just outside of la fortuna! the property was clean and well stocked and the host was so helpful and quick to respond!Highly recommend having your own car if you book this place as there isnt much within walking distance. no complaints from us though, we were aware of this and had no issues.we felt safe and my kids loved seeing the unique wildlife (birds, lizards etc) right on the property.“

„We had a great time at FINCA el Refugio de Papito. The experience will stay with our family forever. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a Pura Vida experience. Whether it was fishing in the pond, seeing the sloths, macaws, iguanas, turtles or herons it was fantastic. Their offers of fresh coconut, plantains, and fresh cane juice were well received. Lost Iguana Resort and Spa

10/10 Hervorragend

"Wir haben hier 4 Nächte verbracht. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist traumhaft. Man wohnt mitten im Dschungel und unser Zimmer hatte direkten Blick auf den Vulkan Arenal. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß und sauber mit einem großen Badezimmer mit Regendusche. Das Frühstück war super. Das Restaurant ist auch gut. Etwas mehr Würze hätte dem Essen gutgetan. Es gibt einen kleinen Pool zum abkühlen und einen kleineren heißen Pool mit Poolbar. Uns war der Pool etwas zu heiß mit geschätzten 40-45 Grad. Trotzdem ein tolles Erlebnis in einem Pool mitten im Dschungel, seinen Drink zu genießen. Das Personal war auch sehr nett und zuvorkommend, gerade im Restaurant und Poolbereich. Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt für Ausflüge. Egal, ob Mistico Park, Vulkanwanderung oder Ziplining. Allerdings etwas weiter entfernt von La Fortuna (ca. 30 Minuten). Wir fanden es toll und können das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen!"

Volcano Lodge Hotel & Thermal Experience

8/10 Gut

"Eine schöne Anlage mit Thermalquellen. Generell allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen - das merkt man vor allem im Frühstücksbereich und den Zimmern. Ein gemütlicheres Sitzmöbel als die Holzkohle im Zimmer wäre wünschenswert. Praktisch ist, dass man das Auto fast vor dem Zimmer parken kann. Große Frühstücksauswahl. Dass es neben den Thermalquellen auch einen normalen Pool gibt ist sehr gut - an einem warmen Tag ist eine Abkühlung toll. Die Lage ist gut - etwas außerhalb von La Fortuna, aber gut zwischen Mistico Park und Arenal Nationalpark in der einen Richtung sowie La Fortuna Wasserfall in der anderen Richtung. Grundsätzlich können wir das Hotel empfehlen, vor allem, wenn man heiße Quellen nutzen möchte ohne zusätzlich einen teuren Tagespass zu kaufen."
