The sun rises and sets on the other side of the building that this apartment is under so it never gets too hot. We were there in January so not so hot as in summer but still lovely and warm. „Check in was easy, pretty spot and view. Needed to use the back patio during the heat of the day until the sun went down, because the direct sun in the front area is intense. We were surprised the sliding doors and all windows did not have screens, but it wasn't too bad. Our biggest issue was the refrigerator wasn't funcioning properly, and the toaster and coffee maker were also not working. „We had a great time at FINCA el Refugio de Papito. The experience will stay with our family forever. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a Pura Vida experience. Whether it was fishing in the pond, seeing the sloths, macaws, iguanas, turtles or herons it was fantastic. Their offers of fresh coconut, plantains, and fresh cane juice were well received. „Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! Absolutely recommend. good distance to all the sites/activity but far enough from the tourist trap that is la fortuna!“
