In die Jahre gekommenes historisches Hotel
Die Hotelzimmer sind frisch renoviert, das Bad ist zwar hübsch dekoriert, aber uralt. Insgesamt hat das riesige Hotel die besten Zeiten hinter sich. Die Besitzerin bemüht sich sehr um einen angenehmen Aufenthalt.

The person that ran the property was very nice, was there if we needed anything. The only thing that was bad was that we had to wait for hot water to take a shower.

Linda, was warm & welcoming. The room & view were fantastic. Easy stroll to several fine restaurants. Classic coastal inn vibe & setting. Will absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet stay is a old seafaring port.

Good breakfast and pleasant staff. The big negative was mouldy smelling carpet that permeated all the common spaces. Fortunately the bedroom had wood flooring not carpet so the atmoshere in the room was plesant

Thank you for staying with us. Just one clarification:The smell is from the basement due to the very humid weather this year. Our carpet is new carpet. there is no smell from the carpet at all. Good luck

Location was good, but very dated interiors and very limited continental breakfast. Ready maxde tea from an urn was unexpected and unpleasant.

Thanks for staying with us. Ready-made tea is there and boiled water is there and tea bags are provided. If you want your way of drinking tea, you can make do it with boiled water and tea bad there. Good luck

It has an old-world charm that is increasingly hard to find these days with the growing number of standardized accommodations It is ideal for someone looking for a relaxed stay which fits well with the relaxed pace provided by a town such as Pictou The owner is a wonderful lady who is industrious and tries to provide a comfortable stay for her guests. I hope to return again, not only to explore the local area, but the hospitality of the inn

In all fairness, my room was one of the cheapest in the hotel. I found various small items like the plastic tags from new clothes lying freely on the floor when I entered the room for the first time. They were still there when I left a week later. The room floorboards lifted in spots and pinched bare feet as well. I won't be going back there.

Good rest
I was only there for about 13 hours but got a good rest. I would stay there again. I chose a small room. It met my needs but might have felt tight if two people were sharing it. I stayed on the top floor, which only has stairs access. I am able bodied so wasn't an issue for me. Breakfast was a decent spread but no lactose free options.

The owner was extremely helpful and allowed me to park my motorcycle within view of a window. I don't throw "excellent's" around as saying excellent would intimate that every aspect of the stay was beyond reproach. I was very pleased and enjoyed my stay and interactions with guests and staff. The breakfast was very good, large selection of and complete and kept me until dinner. Thank you.

No Bacon in our breakfast, I never smell bacon in our dining room. so we never charge. Hehe...We work hard and try all our best to make our guests feel comfortable here. The breakfast was included and was very good. An older property that had original features but had charm. No elevator but we managed up to the third floor where we had a good view of the water. End room with 2 windows that opened for ventilation. Very helpful after our visit when I mislaid sunglasses. Staff all working very hard - short staffed perhaps.

SUPER RUDE!! There is zero way this room passed construction code. An average sized woman cannot fit between the sink and the wall to access the toilet without turning sideways! The room had God awful colored paint (5 different from neon green to lavender) and acoustic tile ceiling, no window blinds over the AC unit so it was bright first light…. Breakfast was awkward and the upright woman made you feel like you were a pain in the ass…. I complained about the room and she yelled at me to “just check out!” It was 10pm so not a possibility to find another place! Food in the area is also a challenge!! Stay ELSEWHERE!!

When you read such kind of bad review among all those super good reviews here, you should know it must be a story behind it.Guest booked a cheapest and small single room for herself, and complained about everything. We offered her a full refund and checked out at 9 pm when she first called. She refused. Then she called the agent to request a full refund but would check out the next morning. Our answer is a Big Fat NO. It is a new trick i had in the last 7 years. Guest sent us a review describing our Inn as " Rude, ugly, disgusting, noisy, and dirty" our in-house review. We ignored it because we are proud of our inn and we knew many guests appreciate our inn and service.This guest is definitely not welcome here By the way, the food in town is great. 99% of guests enjoyed it.
