Ausstattung des Zimmers (Sportsman lodge) etwas lieblos, Einrichtung etwas älter und funktional. Sah ein bisschen so aus, als wären zufällig die Möbel abgestellt worden. Lampen erinnern an einen Umkleideraum, waren sehr hell. Zimmer waren grundsätzlich sauber aber nicht gemütlich. Personal grundsätzlich freundlich, aber nicht so herzlich wie wir es in anderen Unterkünften auf unserer Reise gewohnt waren. Frühstück war gut, Auswahl hätte größer sein können.

The hotel is a dream upon arrival. This ends when you have booked a room at the Sportsman Lodge. These rooms are located in an annex building and are very sparsely and not lovingly furnished. They are clean, but you don't really feel comfortable there. In addition, there is - despite it being stated in the description - no WLAN. The breakfast is at least served in the main building and is extensive. So be careful which room you book! This is often not clear in advance!

Altes Landhaus mit großem Anwesen im Nirgendwo. Wir haben nicht im Haupthaus sondern in einem 150m entferntem Nebengebäude (ohne großen Prunk) geschlafen. Zimmer hatte einen kleinen Balkon mit Blick auf einen Fluss. Frühstück war gut, Eindeckung sehr stilvoll. Freundliches und professionelles Personal. Geschwindigkeit des WLANs unterirdisch schlecht. Mit Navigation nicht gut zu finden. Unbedingt der Beschilderung folgen.

Rustikales Haus in ruhiger Umgebung.
Rustikales Haus in parkähnlicher Anlage abseits von Trubel. Freundliches Personal. Hervorragendes Essen, hat allerdings auch seinen Preis. Auch das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Ideal für Ruhesuchende.

The new rooms added to the original building are terrible and lack cleanness. Noise of water and doors, plus a fire alarm at 7:00 am. The surrounding area, the river and gardens are breathtaking though. Dinner expensive for what you get!

We were on a roadtrip from Edinburgh to Isle of Skye and picked this place randomly as a good stopping point to make headway on the drive. One of the best decisions we ever made and by far my favorite place we stayed at during the whole trip. The whole place is beautiful, inside and outside. We stayed at one of the riverside rooms and had a balcony where we could sit and watch the river. The surrounding areas are great for a morning walk and everyone is generally quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. My favorite part was breakfast. It felt like the ideal British breakfast experience where you’re sitting in a beautiful room, well lit by the morning sun, staring out the beautiful lush green view outside as you butter your toast and pour milk on your coffee. And the food was delicious too. Overall, an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Scotland.

The room we booked was so rundown we ended up leaving with out staying the night and booked elsewhere in Stirling. There advert was very miss leading as to what was available ie: fishing and such. The advert was also missleading on the condition of the accomadations. The only staff member that was personable and friendly was the young lad working the bar. Meal was also over priced for the quality of the food and my wife found a hair in her meal they did give her a new dish. Overall very dissapointed and would not recommend anyone to stay here.

I did not like the fact the so called sportsmans' lodge was dated, tired and very cheaply furnished. Exterior of lodge building was cheaply glazed and outdated. Whole building unit of lodge needing upgraded. 1 of the staff condescending. Attended breakfast and was asked to move as they were tidying away the dining room. An extremely overpriced stay at £127. Drinks in main hotel grossly overpriced. All in all, an extremely disappointing stay for myself and my partner's birthday.

we stayed in one of the lodges. It was very tired and in need of an update. We stayed with friends who were in the hotel and the riverside apartments. I felt at the time of booking we were pushed to stay in the lodges. We had our dog with us but that should not have made a difference as she is well behaved. Balathie should possibly consider updating this year. If we were to think about a return visit and the lodge was the only available option, We wouldn't !

Excellent night away
We were made very welcome from the start. Standards of service was very high, down to the last detail. Food was excellent, couldn't fault it in any way. You don't mind paying a little bit more if the staff, service and for are excellent. Well done to all the staff at Ballathie. We'll be back

Staying in the sportsman's quarters was nice and quiet, very roomy, but not a part of the main building, if walking is a concern. There were no dining options - it's out in the country - other than at the Inn itself, which was a fairly expensive proposition. Tasty, but costly.

Lovely hotel in beautiful setting with welcoming and competent staff. The room was clean with very nice bed linen . A dressing gown and slippers would have been welcome. Our evening meal and breakfasts were excellent - looking forward to going back !

Stayed in one of the lodges, clean apart from dust around edges of carpet, very dated, floorboards creaky but overall good value for money when added to the main house. The staff were lovely the house and grounds fabulous, food, evening bar food and breakfast, was delicious. We would stay again in the main house.

This hotel is in a beautiful Victorian country house set in a gorgeous park-like setting along the River Tay. Staff were warm and welcoming. A soup and sandwich lunch shortly after we arrived was delicious, as was the dinner in the beautiful restaurant. Highly recommended.

Nous avons réservés cet établissement suite aux photos proposés. Mais en réalité, vous ne dormais pas dans la superbe batisse. Ont vous met dans des logements à coté qui ressemblent à un motel miteux. Lits inconfortables, décor d'ambiance inexistant, lumière extérieur durant toute la nuit (logements sans volets), lumières qui grésille, le sol qui craque, moisissure au joint de la baignoire...bref...pour le prix demandé, c'est du vol. Fuyez !

Room was amazing and view across river breathtaking breakfast was beautiful. All staff very well mannered except bar-person who was very rude. Receptionist in morning said it is his sense of humour very disappointed totally unacceptable.
