We are indeed 'out of the way' and that can be seen clearly on the booking website, and that is part of our attraction for guests, as we are in a quiet location and we have probably the finest views in Penzance and Newlyn. We are sorry that we could not provide you with exactly what you wanted at breakfast, but for the sake of the majority of our guests we do not cook onions for breakfast.

Many thanks for taking the time to post a review. When you made your booking through Expedia you booked that specific room, (Compact Double Room First Floor) which was the cheapest room that we have. All our other rooms are more expensive and were probably already taken when you booked. The reason that you saw rooms empty is that we employ, at the moment, a 'rest' period for rooms between bookings so that they can be sanitised and thoroughly cleaned, as per Government guidelines and recently checked by the Health and Safety Executive. Also, all of our rooms have been booked by guests who are coming to stay while you are with us. There was no other room available for the 6 nights of your stay. We are sorry that you are unhappy with your room, but there is a good description with photos and square metre size on the site where you booked, so that was your choice. Many of our guests book Room 7 exactly because it is the most affordable for them and they are very happy with it. We do not challenge our guests' choice of room when they book. We did send you our Covid statement before your stay, which set out our procedures, including the protocols in the Breakfast Room; perhaps you didn't read this information? If my tone to your wife was abrupt, I apologise. The ice maker was replenished regularly during your stay. Most of our guests access our garden during the day via the back door, which is very safe and easy. There is an external light switch by that door. If you had spoken to either Rob or myself during your stay about your concerns then we could have helped you with information. You spent a lot of time in your room, so you seemed happy with it, and a lot of time smoking in the garden, where you also seemed happy.
