Beautiful area, good food, nice room. The room was a bit warm but a fan had been provided so that helped. We would definitely stay here again if in this area.

Newly refurbished, lovely large family room and bathroom, next to the lake, staff were lovely. Car park was full the first night so parked nearby and moved to the hotel car park in the morning when others left. My only complaint was that the dinner seemed over priced (£20 for fish and chips).

Excellent value for the room and breakfast. We would not do we here for dinner as food didn’t look great for the price being asked. But the hotel staff and breakfast was lovely!!

Lovely Hotel
The room was lovely, we had a mountain view from one window and a lake view from the other window. The bed was to soft for us, personal opinion. The staff were polite and attentive. The only downside was the food. My wife had the seafood pizza. It had a slimey texture and a taste not to be desired. I had the burger which was very nice.

Unfortunately we were left in a crowded bar Area for 25 mins trying to check in - no apology. Then when asked if could check out half an hour later in the morning the rudeness was to much, the answer was a laugh In the face and a “no chance”.

Lovely stay!
Great hotel - perfect location for the scenery. Staff were polite and helpful, but clearly a little bit short staffed. Slightly eccentric layout - the only indoor route to the bar is via the lift. We really enjoyed using the swimming pool every day and the chips in the bar are the best I have ever tasted! We would happily stay there again next time we visit the Lakes.

Lakeland stay.
My wife and I had a lovely stay here at the Glenriddings hotel. The main hotel is very tidy and comfortable. We had a great view of both the lake & mountains from our very large room, although there were a few things that need changing. On arrival we headed to the main reception where a gentleman, not doing a lot, directed us to the main bar area to check in. There had just been an extremely heavy storm and the bar area was extremely busy & loud ( to the point we couldn't hear ourselves speak). We checked in and at the same time made dinner reservations. We went for a swim in the hotel pool which was a great addition with the extreme weather outside. Dinner was also served in the main bar area, no separate dining room (not even a quieter residents only bar area is available). The food and service was excellent, but because of the extreme noise , dinner was a far from relaxing affair. We were told there was a large wedding party arriving for the following days nuptials, they got louder & louder & louder! My wife and I decided to escape with a couple of glasses of wine to the hotels games room, where we had peace and quite for the first time all night! Breakfast next morning was served in the coffee bar area downstairs. The food again was delicious but it did feel like we were sat in a shop and not a pleasant hotel. The staff are all extremely pleasant and can not be faulted, but why the man on the main reception could not have checked us in is still a mystery!

I have booked this hotel to have a quiet peaceful night after a week of traveling. Unfortunately the garden of the hotel was full of drunk and loud people until 11 PM making it impossible to sleep. When I asked the front desk for help they just shrugged their shoulders. As for food, people raved how good the pizza is so I ordered one. This was probably one of the worst pizzas I’ve had in a long time. The dough was mushy and tasted so average that I had to cover it would catchup to make it bearable.

The staff were very nice & efficient. The meals were very good. Family room poor for 3 adults. Decor dated. Multi level facilities on ground floor. We were led to believe there was a restaurant; this was not the case, it was bar meals in a noisy environment with people playing pool and loud music playing. The location is somewhat desolate for non-hikers.

Staff were generally friendly and attentive throughout. We had a great lake and mountain view also of the stream that runs past the hotel. Some of the decor in our room was a little dated although this didn't detract from our stay. One of the table lamps in the room was tempremental and one tap in the bathroom would not fully turn off although this seemed to resolve itself on our second day. Great location for visiting Glenridding, Ullswater, Helvellyn etc.

Beautiful view
Nice room with a beautiful view over the lake. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lift wasn't working at the lower ground level, which ment we had to go out on to the street and back in another door which was a little annoying. There was a coffee shop in the hotel which was closed down. We enjoyed the little swimming pool and sauna, which we got to ourselves. We used the ping-pong table and the little snooker table. We stayed two nights and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the area. The breakfast was good with lovely big croissants. Free car park but some spaces were tight to get into.

We received a warm welcome. Our room was superb and clean. However there were staffing issues. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed. Staff at breakfast we’re sparse. We cannot fault the lovely room but the hotel needs to recruit staff ASAP
