Kleines charmantes altes Haus mit herrlicher Terrasse und kleinem Pool. Liebevoll bewirtschaftet, herzliche Gastgeber welche sich sehr um Ihre Gäste bemühen. Grandioses Frühstück und eine sehr gut ausgestattete Bar (Selbstbedienung zu sehr fairen Preisen) Wir sind der Meinung, das Zimmer und Service es mit internationalen Grandhotels aufnehmen kann. Jedoch hier mit der Liebe eines Privathoteliers. Wir kommen wieder...

Toller Service, besser geht es nicht
Wir haben zwei Nächte in einem der großen Ferienhäuser zu Dritt verbracht und waren total begeistert. Die Ferienhäuser sind wirklich so schön wie auf den Bildern (supertoll ist auch die große eigene Terrasse an den Ferienhäusern) und der Service , welchen Elza und Albert (die Besitzer) bieten ist schwer zu toppen. Sie sind immer vor Ort und stehen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, jeden Tag gibt es einen Welcome-Evening mit Snacks und Weinen für die Neuankömmlinge. Das Frühstück ist toll und wirklich lecker. Das B&B liegt sehr zentral in Oudtshoorn und es sind einige Restaurants gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Die größte Überraschung erlebten wir am ersten Morgen, da ALLE Autos früh morgens als kostenloser Service jeden Tag gewaschen werden - mehr Service geht nicht. Wir können die Riverside Lodge wirklich nur wärmstens empfehlen und haben uns rundherum wohlgefühlt.

Der Empfang war sehr Herzlich. Die Besitzer sind super freundlich. Um 17 uhr gabs Wein zu probieren. Tipps fürs Restaurant und Ausflüge gab es auch.

Our stay here was really beautiful, the stag is very helpful and friendly, good breakfast. Just the pool was too dirty to take a bath.

As the pool is situated under trees that shed flowers this time of the year, we do unfortunately end up with a few flowers floating in the pool. The water tough is always sparkling clean. The perfect guesthouse!
Riverside lodge in Oudtshoorn is an amazing guest house. Every last detail in the room and lodge is thoughtfully planned to the enjoyment of guests. Big and spacious rooms, Beautifully decorated, spotlessly cleaned. Breakfast was a delight. Plenty and tasty. Its definitely the best guesthouse we've ever been in. Excellent location by the river and short walk to restaurants. The owners were very friendly and helpful and had thought of everything- even a very well stocked honesty bar. We stayed in a self- catering lodge which was equipped with all that you would need to cook for yourself. We ate out at Anny’s Bistro, which was recommended by our host, Albert. The lodge was large and came with an open fireplace as well as a lovely deck with comfortable seating. A real find and great value.

A heritage property that has been lovingly decorated to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail. There is a beautiful deck attatched to the property which provides shady outdoor seating and lounging space along with a small pool for cooling off. Breakfast was great and we particularly enjoyed all the little extras provided during our stay such as a fully stocked honesty bar, sherry in the room, fresh water and chocholates at bed time and a free car washing service!! If you are looking for a luxury guest house experience in Oudtstroon then this is your place!

We will return.
We really loved our stay at this lodge from the minute we arrived to leaving. Hosts absolutely went the extra mile by having our car washed, providing us iced water and chocolates for the night. Also had free welcome drinks and snacks. Beautiful outdoor views, pool and seating area. Cottage was very well stocked with lots of attention to detail. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Good free internet.

Perfect stay. The room is perfect and the service and hospitality excellent. Only thing is the air conditioning above the bed. Cold air in your face. Maybe change the bed in another direction?

Fantastic place with great hosts.
Absolutely beautiful place to go. The lodge and the rooms are exceptional. The hosts, Elsa and Albert have a drinks reception at 6pm in the evening so you can meet the other guests. Got a great recommendation for a restaurant for dinner. Just disappointed I only booked for 1 night.

This was a wonderful overnight stay en route to Shamwari. The hosts were lovely and the plunge pool and bar most welcome. Our room was very quaint and comfortable with lots of additional touches and if we are ever in the vicinity again we would definitely stay here again.

We loved the cottage and the hospitality. The owners are so warm and make you feel at home. the vegetarian breakfast was fantastic. And we really enjoyed our own personal fireplace in the room.

Stayed in one of the 2 cottages. The location of the lodge is set on near a river where much birdlife is in earshot and in sight. Albert and Elza were great hosts with a thorough orientation of the lodge and surrounding areas. The cottages have a rustic decor but are immaculately kepy and are very spacious and well-equipped. The cottage can very comfortably sleep 4 to 5 people - there is a double bed in the master bedroom, a bunk bed with 2 single beds and a single chaise that could be used for small children. There is a prepared fireplace with firewood and tinder supplied. We made little use of the kitchen but includes a 2 plate stove, fridge and plenty of crockery and cutlery. The hosts held an evening reception with wine and snacks. As part of the stay, they ensured that their custodial staff cleaned our rental vehicle. Overall a very good stay with great service in a beautiful setting. Would have really liked to spend more time in the lodge and area.

Convenient place to stay when traveling in the are
Small family run bed and breakfast. Small rooms without a refrigerator. There is coffee and tea in the room and they give water and chocolates at night. Nice owners. They have two bicycles that we enjoyed. In the center of Oudtshoorn. A very small pool just to get wet not for swimming. A nice drive to the Congo Caves which are worth visiting and a main reason of traveling there along with all the Ostrich farms.

Thank you for staying with us Sharon! Due to guest requests, we've opted for a fully licenced bar in lieu of refrigerators in the bedrooms. Engineers advised that the gradient and soil conditions below the deck are not suitable for a large pool that will necessitate extensive foundations and retainer walls.
