"Times are difficult; but I had always wanted to go to Israel. A wedding in Tel Aviv finally gave us a reason. Not only was Jerusalem a must, but also the famous American Colony Hotel. The reception was friendly and exceptionally helpful. The kind gentleman there immediately helped us book two tours in Jerusalem. It was already late, but the bar was still open, and you could sit in a beautiful courtyard under palm trees. There were delicious salads with feta, hummus, and BBQ, along with a wide selection of international wines and cocktails; the waiter—both waiters—were very friendly. Just a few minutes in this hotel makes you feel well taken care of. (If you don’t arrive at 11 p.m. but a bit earlier, one or two other restaurants are still open.) We liked it so much there that we were already looking forward to going back the next evening. The rooms are large and spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you need. You sleep very well. And the next morning, there’s a breakfast buffet that also leaves nothing to be desired. Its reputation is well-deserved; it’s a perfect hotel. One of the most beautiful I’ve ever stayed in. Upon checking out, we immediately said we’d be back. Thank you very much for the excellent service."

"Location is hard to beat. In the ancient Jerusalem the Jewish Quarter. The A/c in the room was not helpful. It was keeping the room at about 26 degrees while outside were 35. In the evening we would open the windows. Even though it was 16 degrees outside and the room would cool down some, as soon as we would start the a/c it would rush back up.to 26 which made sleeping difficult. Staff couldn't help. The breakfast on Friday was outrageous. Half the size of the previous days and all the warm dishes were cold. But the staff cooked some dishes over again upon request so it was ok. Probably best to stay there during cooler months since the location is top."
