„The hotel was very comfortable and had a lovely homely atmosphere. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. We chose to have our meals in the bar and could not fault the food. The staff also coped well with the COVID restrictions. Would definitely recommend to anyone.“

„Stayed over for one night passing through on a cycling trip. The host was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful storing and charging our bikes. Only open for B&B but fortunately the local tearoom opens on weekend evenings for meals. Well stocked community shop next door and community pub at the end of the street. Great village and area.“

„The Thistle Inn was the perfect stop for the night. We were greeted by the owner and the room was cool and quiet. Exactly what we needed after a long drive.
Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Michelle is very pleasant and enjoyed talking about the area with great recommendations for other places to visit.“

„The Garret is a wonderful place to stay. Audrey and all her service personnel are top notch. The Chief prepares outstanding meals. The marinated chicken we ate was absolutely delicious. The location is within easy walking distance of all sites and places of interest in Kirkcudbright. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Additionally, for what you receive to what you pay it is almost a steal. “

I visited with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson — the boys enjoyed a round of golf while we girls headed to the Arts and Crafts Festival in Kirkcudbright. The hotel is full of charm, with beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff. The food was excellent, and the whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!“
