I love this hotel
If in Mumbai - I will stay here. If you're a tourist just visiting once or in town for businesss this is the hotel to be (or if to far off the Taj Lands End). Excellent service, fast, wonderful rooms. This time I had issues with a new Tax, GST, the hotel tried to add on my already payed Reservation and kinda smallered the overall experience. Why stay here? When there's an issue it will be solved within 5-10min. There was a ball one night, and my room was vibration from the music they played. One call and in 10 min the receptionist brought me a key for a second, calm room for that one night. I love the butler service ( no idea if that's in all the hotel or only in the heritage wing). If you book here, pay a bit more and stay at the heritage wing - it's worth it.

Phantastisches Hotel mit hervorragendem Service.
Das Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai ist und bleibt unser Lieblingshotel. Der Service ist großartig und das Hotel selbst ist ein lebendiges, historisches Denkmal in allerbester Lage. Wer in Mumbai Zeit verbringt, sollte hier unbedingt mindestens eine Nacht verbringen. Traumhaft.

We had been upgraded from the Taj tower to the Taj Palace however the rooms felt very old fashioned and not up to par with the likes of Trident or JW. We had asked about checkout to be extended as per our convo with Ruhi. However again unlike other hotels which allow late checkout by 3-4pm, Taj doesn’t follow. The room had bare minimum toiletries and I had to call them to get toiletries for two people as it looked as it was packed only for 1 person. Later in the day we looked at their pool area which I think could have been better with mosquito repellants and a few outside fans. This is something trident hotel does. Again, a little thing can go a long way. Having dinner there was also quite pricy, around 3k per person. The fee isn’t the issue until u see the variety of food available, which did feel like it was leftover. I would def recommend seeing other 5 star hotels dinner as for the same cost the variety is more. Same for breakfast, variety is 1/3 of what I’ve seen at 5 stars. Also, later in the evening, I called 3 separate telephone lines to connect to housekeeping, front desk, concierge, and eventually operator also in hope to get in touch with someone to bring bed sheets. I don’t think I’ve been to a hotel in Mumbai where each call I rang for 20 times and yet no one picked up. While the hotel is surely vintage, classic, and the oldest hotel in Mumbai - I think it has a lot of catching up to do to consider itself amongst the modern hotels.

We had a fun stay at the distinctive Taj Palace! My elderly parents and I appreciated the Taj tour given by a dedicated historian, as also the courtesy of all the staff including housekeeping who went all out to make us comfortable. My teenager enjoyed the pool service, with towels and water bottles being delivered to her without asking:) And a shout out to the wonderful bookseller who gave us excellent recommendations.

We have stayed at some nice hotels and resorts around the world, and by far this was the best. Yes, the rooms and everything the hotel offers is 5 stars, but for us, what made this experience amazing was the staff. Every single person that works there go above and beyond to make the customers feel comfortable and welcome, and they truly do it from the heart, with pride and genuine care, not because they have to and it’s their job. Outstanding hotel! The service was impeccable. We stayed in the tower and the Gates of India was in full view. The entire staff of the Taj Mahal was exceptional.

One of the best hotel’s in Mumbai and a great location although about an hours drive from the airport. Lovely friendly staff who go the extra mile to chat and assist the guests.
