My husband and I stayed for a week and were treated with great hospitality. Initially we booked 2 nights but after the first morning we were in love with the Staff, the home-cooked food especially, and the pool! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

Great staff interaction. Beautiful property in a very quiet community less than 10 minutes from beaches and restaurants. Only drawback is that the beautifully advertised swimming pool was empty throughout my stay.

The owners were very attentive; they accommodated our arrival time and gave us tips about the city—they were very kind. The house was beautiful, and the room was incredibly bright, featuring a terrace with an amazing view of the surrounding nature. The pool was clean, and the outdoor area, was stunning. The only thing that seemed disproportionate to me was the A/C fee—$50 per night struck me as excessive.

My stay was an awesome experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it feel more like a home than a place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, with attention to little details that really made a difference. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready with helpful suggestions and a genuine smile. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. quiet secluded place not near any walkable market/restaurants. staff was nice dont bother you at all unless you need help with something. room was quite spacious alot spacious actually (solo traveler). only down fall was that the cloth on the head board of the bed was worn out. great view beautiful neighborhood.

David is a delightful host! Come here for an authentic and relaxing stay in Jamaica. We loved the room, it was plenty of space for 1 adult and 2 teens. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunset from the balcony, relaxing by the pool, and the easy access to some isolated and heavenly beaches.

It was like a secluded plantation Mansion on a quiet dirt road. Words can’t describe the beautiful house, they offered food and transportation, the caretaker was the nicest grandmother, kindly and helpful. And the staff drove me to the lagoon and to my next stay (average taxi price, but 24 hour convenience). I will stay here again when I bring my family, it was luxury at a motel 6 prices. She even squeezed me fresh papaya juice, and cooked a delicious breakfast

No air conditioner was included assuming that every property in Caribe had to have AC. Good for you Expedia!!!!! So, they charge me 40 dollars per day aditional to the rate I already arranged to pay. David and the lady at the property were nice and very kind.

Complete nightmare. Checked out before staying a night. Property description is completely misleading. Air conditioning is not available in any room with a view, the rooms with a view do not have functional showers, staff is rude and always in your room. Avoid this place.

Retreat Guesthouse stay

This guesthouse was a nice quiet get-away from the noise, traffic, loud music etc. of bigger cities. Joyce, the owner & her son David were very hospitable and the food was amazingly delicious! I would recommend this guesthouse to others looking for peace & quiet with a beautiful view. Would rebook, no problem!

HORRIBLE!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. Never stayed at this Guesthouse, when called to let them know I am on my own, I was told my reservation was cancelled. I was left stuck in an area that I was not familiar with and had to book with another hotel for the night. When I contacted Expedia, they were not helpful in refunding me. I DO NOT plan on using Expedia in the future.

This was easily one the WORST hotel stays I have ever had in my life! Upon arrival, the property owner acted as if we weren't expected to arrive that day. Then I discovered that the toilet in our bathroom was absolutely filthy - I travel with Clorox wipes so I cleaned it myself. The house is a large house with decent rooms but it's in the middle of nowhere. We asked about getting a taxi to the beach & the owner arranged for her handyman to take us in their old van. I was fine with this but we agreed upon a time for pickup but in the middle of enjoying our beach time, we were informed that we would have to take a taxi back to the hotel. Although I'd asked for a taxi # one was never provided and as we had arranged for pickup, I didn't bring my phone with me to even be able to call said taxi. This should have given me an indication of the rest to come. We could not access even something as basic as hot water unless the owner or her son were around. We soon discoverd how to just boil water ourselves in the kitchen if it was early. Without my permission, someone entered our room and rearranged our things but DID NOT CLEAN a thing. No fresh towels, no nothing. Owner told me I needed to tell HER if I didn't want anyone in my room. Then she proceeded to YELL at me when I simply inquired @ who would be in the room next door to mine b/c we shared a balcony with that room. Turns out it was my father but she didn't know that even one day before his arrival! Stay somewhere else!!!!
