Hervorragende Anlage
Das Serena Beach ist eine wunderschöne Hotelanlage direkt am Indischen Ozean. Der Komplex ist sehr weitläufig, mit großem Garten- und Parkbereich angelegt, sehr gepflegt und gewartet. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll und teilweise luxuriös eingerichtet, das Essen (Frühstück und Dinner) ist reichhaltig und gut, das Personal freundlich. Problematisch ist lediglich der übliche Ghettocharakter solcher Hotelburgen. Auch das Serena ist ringsum von hohen Mauern umgeben, die einen von allem und jedem abschotten. Den Keniaurlaub nur im Serena zu verbringen, vermittelt sicherlich keinen authentischen Eindruck von Land und Leuten, zumal es außerhalb der Mauern in dieser ca. 20 Kilometer von Mombasa entfernt gelegenen Anlage eigentlich nichts zu tun gibt. Am Ende eines längeren Keniaaufenthaltes jedoch hier im Serena einige erholsame Tage zu verbringen, ist ein Traum.

Unser Aufenthalt im Serena war wirklich schön. Das Essen ist sehr gut, das Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend und die Anlage ist gepflegt. Abends ist im Hotel selbst nicht viel los; wenn man aber möchte, ist das Nachtleben von Mombasa nur eine Taxifahrt entfernt. Wir werden dieses Hotel jedenfalls wieder buchen, wenn es uns in diese Ecke der Welt verschlägt.

Angenehmes Hotel mit Einschränkungen
Sehr originelle und gepflegte Hotelanlage mit liebevollen Details. Sehr gute Qualität der Speisen, freundliches Personal, schöner Strand. Dezente Abendunterhaltung, keine (laute) musikalische Dauerberieselung. Viele unterschiedliche Zimmerkategorien mit Vor- und Nachteilen, keine transparente Zimmerbeschreibung verfügbar. Nebenkosten wie zum Beispiel Snacks verhältnismäßig teuer. Größter Nachteil: Die meisten Zimmer sind für den Übernachtungspreis definitiv zu klein, sehr kleine Badezimmer und kleine Balkone oder Terrassen. Vor allem in den Village-Zimmer relativ wenig Ruhe durch schlecht abgeschirmte Terrassen und laut schließende Türen. Internet nicht gratis. Gäste

Schoenes Hotel an der Nordkueste mit hohem Erholungswert
Das Hotel hat eine sehr schoene grosse Anlage mit eigenem Strandabschnitt (Es gibt einige neutrale Stimmen, die es als das bestre Hotel an der Nordkueste bezeichnen). Die Anlage und der Strandabschnitt sind sehr gut zur Erholung geeignet. Im Maerz war es meist tagsueber sehr ruhig und weit mehr Liegen als Urlaubsgaeste am Strand oder Pool. Am Wasser sind zwar nur wenige Verkaeufer, die reagrieren aber sofort und sprechen einen an, sobald man den geschuetzten Hotelbereich verlaesst und an das Wasser (etwa nur 30 Meter) geht. Das Wasser ist extrem warm und bis zum Riff in etwa 500 Meter Entfernung sehr flach abfallend. Das Fruehstueck ist sehr gut von der Auswahl und vom Ambiente (leider wie so oft nur bis 10 Uhr, soweit ich mich richtig erinnere). In der Anlage gibt es ein sehr professionell und sauber gefuehrtes Spa (besser als manches was ich in Westeuropa gesehen habe). Die Massagen waren wirklich hervorragend aber auch preislich relativ teuer (ca. 50 Euro die Stunde!). Es gibt ein kleines Fitnessstudio, dass fuer ein Hotel recht gut ausgestattet ist. Die Zimmer sind nicht allzu gross aber OK und die Baeder sind eher 3-Sterne Niveau, aber das gleicht der schoene Garten, die Strandlandschaft mit den vielen Palmen wieder aus. Man sollte meines Erachtens ein Zimmer direkt am Meer buchen, um das Ambiente optimal geniessen zu koennen. Das Essen im Restaurant ist gut, aber es gibt ein paar sehr gute Restaurants in 10-20 Minuten Taxi-Entfernung.

A good enough stay
Beautiful grounds. Vast gardens and well maintained. Decent beach front with some activities. This hotel is 50 years old, I googled that and it’s been modernized to still afford a good stay. That’s laudable Where it lets down is the food. Breakfast was decent but dinner was a huge letdown. I’m not going to bore you with details, skip the dinner buffet by all means and if you must, the sea food restaurant was a good option. I will never understood paying for things like water when you have a buffet. What is one supposed to do? Choke on meals.

We absolutely loved our stay at Serena. From the airport transfer, reception, pool, bars, dining options (especially Jahazi Grill), kids club, room service, and turn down service. Everything was excellent, and the staff went above and beyond for us. It rained on our last day and they extended our check out to 2pm due to flight delays.

A fitting end to our holiday and a restful break after a safari tour. High light of the hotel was the quality of the food and the helpfulness of all the staff. They bent over backwards to make sure our stay was comfortable. A particular mention goes to Evelyn at the front desk for helping us with a later check out, Nelson who runs the watersports centre for organising our trips out and the enthusiastic pool instructor for the pool aerobics and water polo.

Property is great . Only fault is no CCTV on property in the event of mishap. Got my shoes stollen at pool area and security couldn’t do much. Could have been worse (wallet or phone) . Other than that, it’s good property for both couples and Family vacation.. Staff and service is general is excellent.

A disappointment to Serena
Very disappointed in this Serena property. Very outdated and when we got into our room there were hundreds of mosquitos in the room. They came to spray, but then did not clean up the room that now had dead mosquitos every where. They have no where to charge the cell phone so I had to leave my phone at the front desk. I would not recommend this place,

Beautiful serene place to relax with Family, Great hospitality from reception to room service and care to exceptional staff at the restaurant. We really enjoyed our time at this Serena. Have stayed at Serena Nairobi,,,this outdid it. Great service! Beautiful beaches, outdoor and swimming pool.
