Extremely Disappointing Experience – A Complete Breakdown in Communication
This was one of the most frustrating and disappointing booking experiences I’ve ever encountered.
Despite having a confirmed reservation through Expedia for two rooms—complete with itinerary and confirmation number—the hotel had only one room on record upon our arrival. This forced us to pay out-of-pocket for an additional room immediately, just to ensure everyone had a place to stay.
What made matters worse was Expedia’s handling of the situation. I spent nearly an hour negotiating with their representative, who was not only unhelpful but at one point insisted that we should absorb the cost difference—even though the entire issue stemmed from their own system error and miscommunication with the hotel.
Only after escalating the case to the Resolution Department did a manager finally authorize a full refund, including the price difference for the second room. But by then, valuable time had been wasted, and the entire experience left us deeply disappointed and frustrated.
For a platform that markets itself as reliable, this level of service and accountability is unacceptable. This incident has seriously affected my trust in Expedia, and I would urge the company to take full responsibility for ensuring coordination with partner hotels in the future.
