First of all, the staff is great, always friendly and supportive. I am regular guest Manila Hotel since more than 10 years. I like the atmosphere, the big pool, great gym, all the different kind of restaurants. But one former highlight is not back after the pandemic. That is the famous breakfast buffet of former times. Now the quality is just medium-low standart of a 5 star hotel. We hope the quality will be brought up again.

Accomodation was really okay, but the restaurant gets below zero points. The table was not clean, waitres were ständig around near cashier and did not realize new guests. After about one hour we got finally something on the table. Starter came after main dish. Surrounding tables were not emptied, when guests left.

I love heritage and its history but there are some things which I am not ready to accept....the molds on the walls in the shower, thus, the faint smell in the bathroom. Though renovated, the shower head attached to the wall fall apart. Also there seems to be a leak somewhere around the sink as spills of water suddenly appear after using it. The TV reception or the quality of the sound and images is not clear as if the TV model is in the 60’s though flat screen. The room is clean but not sparkling clean. Service is excellent but not in all areas. The breakfast buffet is good but hot items are not really that hot, just mildly warm. An emphasis on more trainings for the F&B staff to improve their service from good to best should be looked into. Service in the concierge and reception is excellent. The Night Manager was quick and knows how to react to guest complaints. The lobby is beautiful but always crowded like a marketplace when I was there. At 6PM, there’s a piano and:or violin ensemble that provides soothing music but due to the noise of guests checking in and out and the people going in and out of the hotel, rhe soothing ambiance is disrupted. Oversll rating on prices (room and f&b) : pricey!

Das Hotel ist einfach sehr stilvoll Bzw. Uns hat der alte Stil sehr gut gefallen. Den Weg von der ersten Etage zum Pool fand ich für ein 5 Sterne Hotel jetzt nicht so ansprechend und es hat teilweise auch gestunken. Das ist aber das einzige, was wir zu bemängeln haben. Was man auf jeden Fall testen sollte - das Frühstücks- und Dinnerbuffet. Es war der absolute Hammer! Dort ist für jeden was dabei!! Vielen Dank an das Manila Hotel für die tollen Tage.

There are two issues. I frequent Manila Hotel as a personal retreat. I always highly recommend it. I become a prestige member each year. this visit was not pleasant. Normally a deposit of 4,000p is required to pay for incidentals. This time I was required to prepay for any charges to my room. I started with 10,000p and was later required to add 15,000p. That is not a deposit. it is a required prepayment, and quite honestly, when I was asked to replenish my account it was while I was with my guest at dinner. I have never been so humiliated. Next, I booked my stay in early May for mid May. I booked on line. The hotel is advertised with certain amenities. One of which is their pool. The pool is a highlight for me. I enjoy dining pool side. However, at the time of booking, the pool was under renovation but not mentioned on the website. When I arrived, it was completely closed. It was not what I paid for and the hotel did not have the decency to notify me that the pool was closed prior to checking in. I paid for the pool. I was not able to receive what I paid for. They informed me when I checked in. At that point, I could no longer cancel my reservation. My time there was literally awful.

Some things I like: The buffet breakfast. Help from Nino, manager of the buffet. Wonderful ambiance inside and out. Can be improved: - The laundry number does not ring/ have to call house keeping - The room was noisy due to construction. - I asked for a room without the air conditioner on and got a room with full blast air conditioning set to max. - The laundry said "done in 8 hours" and was not ready the next morning 10 hours later but was very expensive.

The property and staff was great. I would say my only complaint was the property tend to get very busy and crowded due to the many events and functions happening inside the property. At times made it difficult to relax, especially when the loud music would go on from the functions.

Historic property, good pool and gym. Very popular breakfast buffet. Very near the old fort and other tourist spots…but this is a developing country with all the poverty that comes with it. The hotel is super safe, but a large number of homeless in the surrounding area.

A historic and beautiful hotel in the heart of Manila! I could not recommend a stay here enough. The staff was wonderful, the rooms are clean and spacious, and we really enjoyed our stay here.

I make it a point to stay at the Manila Hotel every time I visit the Philippines (usually a couple of times a year) because I’m always treated like a member of the family. The staff is always friendly and hospitable, which is not the case with many of the other hotels I’ve stayed at. I highly recommend The Manila Hotel to all my friends and acquaintances visiting the Philippines!

I really like the views from the 14th floor. Staff was nice and attended well to our needs. Unfortunately, some of the electric outlets were not functioning properly. Carpet, especially inside the rooms, also needs replacement. Room to room calling was also somehow problematic— one had to dial the operator first to get connected to another room to make a call. Breakfast was great! A lot of selections. The one thing why this hotel is special? It is the history that is attached to it and is situated in a historical place. That’s irreplaceable. Overall experience? I will come back, no doubt — as long as the price remains reasonable. Perhaps all the electrical outlets would have been repaired and old carpets replaced by then.
