The staff at the reception is very slow. The room are spacious, but very old. The staff of the restaurant is absolutely horrible. You can wait 20 minutes before order, then 20 minutes for the service, and the staff is not serious. The hotel is not located in city center, it's very far from Madurai- The pool is nice, but the smell is just horrible. So don't go in this hotel

Place is on the outskirts, but it says on the Hotel.com website that it is walking distance from the Temple, for example; this is a misrepresentation and needs to be corrected. The room and the dining area are very unclean. Toilet amenities are of low quality

Pros:Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, Friendly staff, good breakfast and service, clean and good environment with easy access to places. Cons: Gave one king suite room where TV did not work and was noisy because of some reception party was going on. Then, changed to second floor to another suite where WIFI did not work at all. complained to staff twice and there was no action taken. However, we did not bother as it was one day stay. Also, they provided stay for our driver but he said, washrooms were so dirty that he got ready in a paid washroom.

Not worth for the moeny
We booked this hotel for a night stay based on Expedia's rating. The hotel is very old to be rated high. Very bad condition, unpleasant sleep due to bad mattress and pillows, bathroom was terrible. Worst thing to mention was the morning breakfast. No waiter was attending us, and we waited for a plain dosa for about 15-20 minutes. Later left the hotel without having the dosa. Front counter staff have no idea and wondering why we were disappointed. A day stay cost us INR6,000 and it was not at all worth for a hotel on the outskirt of Madurai. We paid only INR5,000 to 4.5* hotel in Chennai and the stay was so luxurious. We will never ever recommend anyone to choose this hotel for a stay in Madurai.

Verkeerde liging
Het hotel ligt helemaal buiten de stad. Op de Expedia kaart staat dat het in het centrum ligt. Ik heb dus verkeerde informaitie gekregen en wacht op bericht van Expedia met een vergoeding hiervoor. Het personeel is slecht opleid en niet geïnteresseerd in de gasten.

Poppy's hotel - good value
Hotel is situated along the outer ring Road of the city, which makes it a convenient access from the airport . Travel to the city centre is easy although you need some time to get through the congestion. Hotel has one restaurant where the food is reasonably priced and god variety. Would recommend this hotel if you want to avoid the town center and yet have easy access. Staff re friendly and helpful. Rooms are in reasonably good condition.

Hotel has a nice lobby and looks good from outside
Terrible experience. I booked this hotel based on the ratings and was the biggest mistake. When we arrived, they did not have our reservation. When I showed them the confirmation received from expedia, many phone calls were made and rooms were given to us approx 30 mts after we arrived.When we went to the room, the room was stinking of something smoky, it was really a weird smell. The towels in the bathroom were stinking. We asked for new rooms and they did not have any. We ordered new towels and condition was the same - they were stinking. It was midnight by now, so we decided to stay put rather than go looking for a new hotel. Also, stay away from their restaurant. We had dinner there and I was in the hospital for 2 days due to food poisoning.

Good Hotel, location could have been better.
Not close to anything - getting a transport to any place also a bit difficult as you need to walk upto the main road. Otherwise the hotel is fantastic.. breakfast was good; however the service was poor - staff cannot converse properly (not trained adequately) and also understaffed.
