I am surprised by this comment, because you accepted a voucher (until 2022), duration of 2 years, with the remaining nights that you did not sleep. I also inform you that all requests for cancellation and refund of the reservation amount, past, present or pending related to Covid19 are being returned in full. Your situation is completely different, because you checked in at our apartment, even though you knew about the virus. In addition, we missed a reservation for several weeks (couple friend from Canada, who wanted to escape the virus), because we honored your reservation. We think we are being more than fair to our guest and his family, as he received no compensation from his airlines, except that he had to buy new tickets on the return flight. Our apartment was in excellent welcoming condition on his arrival, prepared lovingly by Miguel and his team, and I am very disappointed that Peter never availed of the hospitality of the beautiful people of Madeira. Regarding the title of your comment, I can say that unfortunately, during your stay, the tunnel (left side of the complex) for access to the natural pools and the nearest super market called "My Super" and other restaurants had been closed, 2 days before your arrival at the apartment, because there were big waves, caused by the tornado that passed through the Azores. If this tunnel were open, access to the upper level would have been much more enjoyable and romantic, with amazing views. However, next to the complex (right side of the complex), there are several restaurants along the beach, no stairs required. In the ad mentions that you need to take steps to the upper road, it was written on“Going Around: - …. After these restaurant and bar you will find some steps on your right. These stairs lead you to the street above..." However, I have already updated the description of the apartment, giving more emphasis to the fact that this apartment is at sea level, so, being the island of Madeira very mountainous, we will always have to climb. In the ad mentions as well that car rental is recommended for more independence. This complex is situated at the last stop of the Aerobus, just € 5.00. Thanks for your comment. I am very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and want to return. With regard to public transport, you could have used the stop at the end of the street, before starting the ascent (No. 43), every day. I think you just used the stop at the top of the street, after climbing the stairs right after the By the Sea fish restaurant. In addition to these two alternatives, you could have used another, much more enjoyable, just after passing the tunnel, after the natural pools, much nicer to do. Just had to go along the promenade along the beach, flat, the stop is right next to the restaurants Doca do Cavacas, Barqueiro and Papa Manuel. Right next to these two restaurants there is a supermarket called "My Super" where we can find a little of everything. Madeira Island is very mountainous and we are in the less touristy area of ​​Funchal (West Side), where there is no road in front of the apartment, just the beach and the promenade to the left towards the Lido or to the right direction Câmara de Lobos . It is a prime location, super laid back, with many local restaurants on the same level as the complex building. Our guests can always rent a car, there is free park, right next to the complex, thus allowing more freedom to explore the island. I hope see you soon :)

They are already repairing the small part that had been destroyed by the sea. The promenade has 9 km and only a small part had been destroyed, namely the one to the left of the building towards the tunnel, only 300 meters. The whole promenade to the right of the building, by the sea (5 km) towards Camara de Lobos and after the tunnel is operational and has never been destroyed.
