Villa da Rochinha combines bright open-plan living, a large sea-view terrace, jacuzzi access, a stone BBQ and a fully equipped kitchen — ideal for slow mornings, relaxed dinners and peaceful evenings under the stars.

Located in the green north-east of Madeira, close to Porto da Cruz, Ribeiro Frio and some of the island’s most beautiful levada walks, the apartment is perfect for guests who want nature, comfort and privacy without being far from the airport.

Villa da Rochinha is a spacious, stylish loft apartment on the upper floor of our house, created as a peaceful holiday home with generous indoor and outdoor living space. Large glass doors connect the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area directly with the private terrace, allowing you to enjoy the sea view throughout the day — while cooking, dining, reading, relaxing or simply watching the changing light over the Atlantic.

The apartment is especially well suited for couples looking for a quiet retreat, families with older children, two couples travelling together, or small groups of friends who want a comfortable base for discovering Madeira.

🔹The living space

The heart of the apartment is the bright open-plan living area. The kitchen, dining area and lounge flow naturally into one another, creating a relaxed space for spending time together.

The living area includes comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, a smart TV, books, board games and a Bluetooth speaker. Whether you want to enjoy a quiet evening after hiking, plan the next day’s route, watch a film or simply open the terrace doors and listen to nature, the apartment offers plenty of space to unwind.

The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for guests who enjoy self-catering. It includes a fridge, freezer, oven, induction stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, ice machine, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, glasses, crockery and everything needed for preparing breakfast, light meals or a full dinner at home.

🔹Bedrooms

Villa da Rochinha offers two generous bedrooms and can accommodate up to six guests.

The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed and TV, making it a calm and private space for restful nights.

The second bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements with a double bed and a spacious custom bunk bed measuring 2 m x 1 m. The bunk bed is also suitable for adults, which makes this room practical for families, friends or small groups who appreciate flexibility.

🔹 Bathrooms

The main bathroom is very spacious and comfortable, with a walk-in shower, Jacuzzi bathtub, two sinks, toilet and bidet. It offers a touch of luxury after a day of exploring the island.

There is also a second small bathroom with a toilet and urinal, which is especially convenient when several guests are staying together.

Towels, bed linen, shampoo, soap, toilet paper and a hairdryer are provided.

🔹Private terrace, BBQ & outdoor living

The spacious private sea-view terrace is one of the apartment’s most memorable features. Directly accessible from the living area, it offers a generous outdoor space with panoramic views over the Atlantic, the valley and the surrounding mountains.

Several seating areas invite you to enjoy the terrace throughout the day — from morning coffee at the small café table to relaxed drinks in the afternoon or an informal BBQ dinner in the evening. A large stone BBQ, outdoor chairs and a small dining area make this a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy Madeira’s peaceful north-east coast.

🔹Jacuzzi access

Guests have access to the outdoor jacuzzi, which is located on a platform in the garden above the holiday apartment and offers beautiful sea views.

The jacuzzi is occasionally also used by us, the hosts, as we live in the same house below the guest apartment. However, our guests always have priority. We coordinate usage personally so you can enjoy a relaxed and comfortable experience during your stay.

Jacuzzi use is included in the rental price.

Guests have exclusive use of the private apartment and private terrace. The apartment is located on the second floor and is reached via wide, well-lit outdoor stairs that are easy to walk on.

Free parking spaces are available.

We, your hosts Herman and Julia, live in the same house below the guest apartment. We are close enough to help if needed, but always respect your privacy.

🔹Location

Villa da Rochinha is located in a quiet, green area near Porto da Cruz on Madeira’s beautiful north-east coast. It is a peaceful location surrounded by nature, with wide views of the Atlantic Ocean and easy access to some of the island’s most scenic places.

The centre of Porto da Cruz is only a few minutes away by car. There you will find charming cafés, small restaurants, the seaside promenade and access to the ocean. Good walkers can also walk to the village, although the way back is uphill.

Madeira Airport is around 15 to 20 minutes away by car, making the apartment convenient for arrival and departure while still offering a quiet, natural setting away from busy tourist areas.

For hiking enthusiasts, the location is excellent. The Levada do Castelejo starts very close by, and Eagle Rock can be reached on foot directly from the house. Ribeiro Frio Natural Park is also nearby by car and offers access to some of Madeira’s most beautiful walking routes.

This part of Madeira is ideal for guests who love nature, hiking, dramatic coastal scenery, local villages and a more authentic island atmosphere.
