Ein Empfang der übleren Art.
Der Empfang war grenzwertig. Der Mensch am Empfang war betrunken und musste immer wieder den doch eher schmutzigen Hund wegschicken sowie den Hausangestellten vom Parkplatz weg bitten. Die Gegend um den Empfang und Küche ist schmutzig und übel riechend. Der Rest ist völlig OK.

Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.
Sehr sauberes Zimmer und Bad. Liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Essen ist auch sehr zu empfehlen, weiße Tischdecke und Stoffservietten, Essen hervorragend. Inhaber und Personal sehr freundlich.

Direkt am Meer, aber das Einzelzimmer ist wirklich
Die Manager sind sehr nett, keine Frage......aber die Location ist einfach im Einzelzimmer zu klein (keine 10m2, das ist nicht adäquat. Ich kenne aber die Doppelzimmer nicht.

Im Grossen und Ganzen war der Aufenthalt ganz ok. Als wir um 18:00 Uhr ankamen war das Zimmer noch nicht bezugsbereit. Obschon schon vor 6 Monaten für 3 Personen (2 Erw. 1 Kind) gebucht wurde das Zusatzbett vergessen. Nach einer halben Stunde dann konnten wir endlich in das Zimmer. Das Zimmer war recht hübsch für 2 Personen, aber deutlich zu klein für drei. Keine Ablagemöglichkeiten für das Gepäck. Abendessen im Hotel, na ja. Die aus der Karte bestellten Gerichte konnten auch nach über einer Stunde warten, nicht geliefert werden. Es wurde uns aber zwischenzeitlich eine Vorspeise umsonst gereicht. Die Nächte waren dann recht kalt. Durch die alten Fenster zog es. Trotzdem schliefen wir gut. Morgenessenbuffet klein und bescheiden, aber ausreichend. Die Note Gut erhielt das Hotel für das Gesamtpacket. Nettes Personal, nettes altes Haus und vor allem sehr schöne und reizvolle Umgebung. Die Wanderungen im Exmoor Nationalpark waren von feinsten.

The room was well equipped and very clean. The Hotel was not fully open for the season and Breakfast was provided by the ‘Rising Sun’ ( sister inn). Which we were unaware of prior to arrival.

The dining area was fabulous and the location stunning however the single room was cramped and the bed uncomfortable, decor in the room needs urgent updating .

Nice hotel with great views
Great hotel for exploring the coast. Room overlooked the river and the sea. The river is noisy from the water tumbling over the rocks which added to the charm and actually helped us sleep well! Breakfast and dinner are I the pub opposite over a footbridge. Would definitely stay again.

Disappointing
Very tired, dated room. ALL furniture and decor had scratches and peeling paint. Having to go to another hotel to check in/out and have breakfast was not ideal. Will not be returning.

Lovely bedroom and shower room,recently refurbished. We were checked in by a nice chap, told us breakfast times and showed us the breakfast room. Had a table booked for an evening meal, we were greeted by a very unhappy waitress. “You booked ? “ we agreed that we had, “that’s your table then” pointing across the room. Her customer service skills were nonexistent, not even a smile! She certainly needs some training. Breakfast on the first morning as okay, nothing special on the buffet table. We were not offered any conserves for our toast, but not a deal breaker. Breakfast second morning, arrived at the breakfast room to the door looked and reception in darkness, no one in the kitchen, it was like the Marie Celeste! Just before 9 o’clock we discovered from the maintenance man that breakfast was served over the road at the sister hotel! We had not been informed on check in or at breakfast the first morning. It would have been helpful if a notice had been placed on the breakfast room door even. We went without breakfast.

This is an excellent place to stay, the location is beautiful, the staff are so welcoming and friendly , nothing is too much trouble. The room was absolutely gorgeous, clean and tidy - I really can not find anything negative to say about the Rock House. I will definitely be going back and would recommend a stay here.

Great food and service, beds not so great.
The food was excellent. Some of the best we've ever had. The staff are really nice too. The room was pleasant and quite spacious and although it was clean i did notice some food crumbs on the floor and we had not eaten in the room. My only criticism is the bed. You could feel the mattress springs. I would recommend that the owners invest in some mattress toppers to improve comfort.

We found the staff very nice especially the guy that served our breakfast and barmaid. Reception tried to help with tv but not a lot of choice of channels to watch probably because of awful weather and where the hotel was situated. Bed was really huge and comfy but decor needed up dating. Carpet in room and reception area really grubby. Sink and loo in our room was fine but shower was filthy especially the lower grouting and shower door. Glad we were only staying 1 night as wouldn't want to use it. The meal we ate in the evening was fine although it wasn't until l had eaten mine and looked at menu l realised l hadn't had the gluten free fish and chips the menu looked as though it was but a small box in corner said on request. Cooked breakfast was lovely although no gluten free cereal option also no oatmilk or decaf tea.

A lovely hotel for a short stay
The Hotel is not an easy choice for older people. The is no lift, and the stairs are steep and uneven - handrails at the turn of the stairs would be an improvement. There were no towel rails in the bathroom, which meant the towels had to be put on the floor. But we had a lovely stay and the Hotel has a unique position and a super garden.

Beautiful room and view. In the centre of Lynmouth - 20 second walk across bridge to pubs etc. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast

This hotel is nice and near the beach and also pubs and shops so is really convenient. Staff are so helpful and happy, they just naturally put you in a good mood. A real homely feel and although I didn’t take my dog it was nice to see they were very welcome guests.
