Great overnight stay. Superior rooms are modern and spotless well worth the extra. Nice traditional pub food served in the bar. Owner was lovely and extremely helpful. Road is quite busy but noise is minimal and didn't keep us awake. Would recommend

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Easy parking and convenient access directly from car park to rooms which was great as we got back after midnight. Very nice continental breakfast and friendly welcome from our host.

The property was lovely. We stayed in room 9 as it was located on the ground floor and I use a wheelchair, plenty of room. We had a snack Friday evening and it was lovely food. The staff were very friendly, chatty and accommodating. Easy to find. Definitely will stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel with warm, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. It is best to request a room at the back of the hotel if you are likely to be troubled by traffic noise as the A22 tends to have some traffic through the night. But very convenient for the Coast, the Downs and Glyndebourne. thanks for a great stay.

The single room above a quiet pub has the best price you will find in the area, and an interesting history. Nice meals are available downstairs, very convenient. The Sunday lunch (I had the roast chicken with all the trimmings) was especially delicious. The friendly owners shared lots of information about the local area. The entire building is very clean and well maintained and the room is cosy with nice touches without being overdone. There is a tea kettle with coffee and tea options. The few downsides are the stairs to the second level being a bit steep and there not being a door between the room I stayed in and the bathroom, though it did not end up presenting a problem. Space is a bit tight. Buses pass through at least once per hour to/from Gatwick Airport and to Eastbourne and Brighton in the opposite direction. The nearby town has lots of shopping and restaurants. One of the best fabric shops anywhere ever is just across the road. Gorgeous things.

Great stay here - we arrived around 20:00 on a horrible stormy Saturday and were greeted and checked in cheerfully and quickly. Room was small but had everything we needed. We had dinner in the pub and that was a genuinely lovely, I'd go back here again just for a meal. Portions were generous and the food was delicious. There's a few games and things in the bar, and they came in very handy when there was a brief power cut (it was Boelo, it was very windy). Emma quickly handed out candles for tables and I can confidently say the emergency lighting works because I've seen it in action. Continental breakfast is included in the rate and would have been absolutely sufficient, except I could smell sausages so had to order a sausage bap as well. All delicious again. There's a small shop inside the pub in a side room, selling toiletries and sweets and snacks and things (it's a small village and the shop is available to guests and locals) which could be very handy if you arrive and realise you've forgotten something. Very friendly staff, great location, would definitely recommend and will likely stay again.
