Glamping as imagined
Super nice tents and staff, showers and facilities are super clean. The warming blankets and the heater keep you warm at all times! You can get towels if you need them and store personal items in the fridge. Breakfast is not included (2000kr p.p) but there's always coffee and tea. Beautiful stay!

Man muss um hinzukommen ca 2km über eine Schotterstraße, was unser Kleinwagen auch locker geschafft hat. Tolles geräumiges Zelt idyllisch am Fluss gelegen. Super bequemes Bett mit Heizdecke. Nachts hört man den Wind und den Fluss rauschen. Heizlüfter vorhanden um kühle Nächte zu überstehen. Saubere Dusche und ausrechend Toiletten in separatem Sanitärcontainer. Leckeres Frühstück direkt von der Gastgeberin. Ein tolles Erlebnis.

It was a great spot to experience the quiet river and surrounding mountains in northern Iceland. Our tent was well equipped and nicely decorated. The electric heater warmed us up nicely. It was a quiet spot with clean facilities. We also enjoyed breakfast on the property.

Luxurious and comfortable yurts. Clean bathroom facilities. Each yurt has heaters and a heated blanket. Dinning tent has everything you need including a bbq and stove with spices. Highly recommend and would return here.

This is a beautiful, scenic spot on a river. Yurts are quite large, and the heated mattress pads are FABULOUS! Beds are very comfortable, but found the furniture not to be... mainly because the yurt sides touched my head while trying to sit :) not a lot of space to move the seats around Staying here in mid-summer w/24 hour light was challenging, even in sleep masks. It's quite bright. Breakfast was very disappointing - not worth the cost -but I absolutely LOVED the shared kitchen "tent" next to the dining. Such a great amenity! Shared refrigerator, cooking area and sink, hot water maker, space heaters and wonderful picnic tables, dishes - even spices and oil. Just a fantastic extra perk. Showers and w/cs were fine. Exterior doors didn't work well - but overall totally fine. Showers were nice. Generally a beautiful space to stay, and worth the drive to Husavik and other locations

We are not camping people but thought “glamping” would be a fun experience. I’m so glad we decided to stay at Original North. The tents are lovely—nicely decorated, comfortable, and spacious. The heater and electric blankets kept us perfectly warm. The bathrooms were immaculate as were the tents. The shared kitchen had plenty of eating space and plenty of utensils, plates, pots, etc, and we used it every day. The scenery was incredible and it was so quiet. I was really sad to leave.

Hard to get a good night’s sleep in a tent when the sun never sets. Property is bare bones but the tents are nice. Amenities such as a fire pit for conversation with other guests or chairs overlooking the river would add something to the experience.

Thank you for this review. We provide face masks for guests if they don't have their own and cannot sleep. There are chairs in every tent, which people are using also outside, we cannot leave them there, because of weather conditions. We will think about other solutions for that. Happy travelling!

Everything I hoped for. Beautiful setting on the river with flowers and mountains all around. Mongolian style tents and furnishing. Clean cut grass to comfortably walk barefoot on and enjoy the nature. 30 minute drive from Husavic. Very friendly and helpful staff with very good English. Delicious breakfast. Use of Kitchen to cook meals. Hot showers. Clean bathrooms. We wanted to stay longer.

This is a very unique property and we loved it. The view from the tent was extraordinary and very peaceful. The tent was spacious and had all the amenities of a hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and the showers were very clean. The check-in process was smooth and quick. One of the nights that we were there we had the most outstanding display of Northern Lights! There is very little light pollution and the lights seem to be brighter and lasted for well over 2 hours. It was amazing. The only suggestion that I would have, is the staff could ask when checking in if towels were required. We did not have towels and that meant we had to wait until the desk was open to get towels to shower. We loved staying at Camp Boutique and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience to enhance thier Iceland vacation. Glamping Iceland experience.

immaculate tents and furniture in a beautiful setting along the water. Sigrún was helpful and accommodating of later arrivals. She preheated the tent. Electric mattress pads kept us more than warm enough even though only it was about 45F at night. I really wish we had booked more nights so we. Plus have enjoyed the area more. We had 4 adults in a family tent with no problem but must share 2 beds. The shower/toilet building has a sink and hot water pot and more cooking facilities were available but you would need to bring cooking gear like a normal camp. It was about 30 min South of Husavik which has restaurants. Sigrún makes coffee in AM and the buffet in the AM is extra but provided.

The Best Place to Stay in Northern Iceland
My husband and I absolutely loved staying in our little tent under the stars in Iceland. Everything in our tent was perfect— a nice big bed, heater & provided candles and a lantern for light when it got dark. We were so comfortable and warm during the evening thanks to the heated blankets. There was also a very nice shower and bathroom facility on-site, which were we’re thankful for. We were able to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee the next morning. Highly recommend staying here if you travel to Iceland! It’s relatively close to some of the tourist destinations, like Selfoss and Dettifoss.

Beautiful setting
Check-in could be better as you are expected to ring an international number to speak to the manager if they are not around (assuming you have a signal and that your carrier allows this!) The site itself is beautiful- next to the river with beautiful views all around. It was very quiet. The tent is well equipped. I would stay there again.
