The Space:

Casa Papaya is a 100 m² villa with two air-conditioned bedrooms and one bathroom. The open kitchen connects directly to the living room and is fully equipped with built-in appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, stove, toaster, blender, coffee maker, freezer, kettle, and oven. Outside, a private garden, covered veranda, and terrace invite you to relax in the tropical setting.

Good to know:

- No supermarket in the immediate area: the nearest supermarket is 1.6 kilometers away, but with a rental car you'll be there in a few minutes and can stock up on groceries for several days

- Animal visitors: occasionally curious birds, lizards, or a friendly goat might visit the garden, a true Bonairean experience that kids usually love

- No dryer: there's no dryer available, but thanks to Bonaire's constant sun and warm winds, your laundry will be bone dry on the line within hours



Guest Access:

As a guest of Casa Papaya, you have access to the entire villa, including both bedrooms, the bathroom, the open kitchen and living room, plus all outdoor spaces such as the private garden, covered veranda, and terrace. The private pool is exclusively for you and your travel party, as well as the free parking space on the property. To warmly welcome our guests and provide information about the accommodation and the island, we handle all arrivals personally. The Neighborhood:

Sur Salinja is a quiet residential neighborhood where you can experience the relaxed Bonairean atmosphere. The area is characterized by local houses, friendly residents, and an easygoing ambiance that fits island life perfectly. Here you stay among the locals and get a genuine feel for Bonaire, while all important facilities and attractions remain easily accessible by rental car.



Casa Papaya is approximately 1.6 kilometers from Top Supermarket, 750 meters from Dive Friends Yellow Submarine dive center, 1.5 kilometers from Isidel Beach Park, 1.3 kilometers from the center of Kralendijk and 1.3 kilometers from It Rains Fishes restaurant.



Sunwise insider tip: About 10 minutes' drive from Casa Papaya lies 1000 Steps, one of Bonaire's most charming snorkel and dive spots. Despite the name, there are actually only 67 steps that take you down to this idyllic little beach. The location is particularly popular with snorkelers and divers because of the beautiful coral reef directly accessible from the shore. The crystal-clear water and abundance of tropical fish make this an unforgettable underwater experience. The compact beach offers shaded spots under the trees, perfect for resting between snorkel sessions.



Getting Around:

Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Casa Papaya. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.



Other Things to Note:

Check-in to Casa Papaya is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 10:00 AM. Early arrival or late departure may be possible on request, depending on other reservations. Smoking and pets are not allowed in our accommodations, and we kindly ask you to keep noise down at night. Enjoy your stay at Casa Papaya!
