Verbesserungswürdig: Sauberkeit und Check-in
This property is reasonably priced and well located with easy access to Laurier and Waterloo campuses. I had excellent communication with the host prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, the key was not in the lockbox when we arrived. After a call, she sent someone to bring us the key, which we received 15 minutes after check-in time.
The apartment itself was well laid out with two separate bedrooms and two washrooms, divided by a living space. The kitchen was functional, with all the appliances we would need to cook meals and make coffee.
However, the place was not very clean. The fridge and microwave had food debris in them; one bathroom had hair in the shower and on the floor; a light blanket on one bed was badly stained; and the cutlery and dishes were sticky. There were no pans, and one of the 3 pots was a badly burnt camping pot. The mattresses on the beds were the old coil type and very uncomfortable.
Finally, the lock on the door was broken, so it took multiple attempts to lock it each time we left the apartment.
We're used to staying at places that are not fancy, so we made the best of it. We cleaned as we went, added blankets to increase the comfort level of the beds, and had a great time in the city.
If you want to save money and don't mind staying in what is clearly student housing—with a bit of grime and images of Drake popping up in unexpected places—this is the place for you!
