Great B&B on the outskirts of Windermere
What a beautiful gem of a B&B just on the outskirts of Windermere. We stayed here for a nearby wedding but it had everything we needed and more! The breakfast was amazing and plenty to choose from. Ample parking for those who are staying too. Highly recommend the food at the nearby Watermill Inn and Brewery too.

Very cute, clean hotel in a beautiful location. Only disappointment was the included breakfast ends promptly at 930 am and we missed it by 5 minutes and were turned away.

This is the nicest Guest House we have ever stayed in. Absolutely spotless, wonderful bedroom with great facilities including the use of a guest sitting room. The hosts are incredibly friendly and the breakfast freshly cooked, plentiful and great choice. An absolute gem

Excellent dog friendly guesthouse
Chose this guesthouse as it is dog friendly and was not disappointed. Debbie the owner had thought of everything, even down to a hose pipe for cleaning off our labrador and towels! Lovely guesthouse, very clean and comfortable and fantastic breakfast cooked to order. Was just off the A591 but good double glazing so no problem at all with traffic noise. Great pub down the road that also allows dogs in and does the best steak and ale pie ever! Great location, just 2 miles from Lake Windermere, and lovely local walks as well. We are already planning our next stay.

2-night stay - very happy
2-night stay - very happy. Easy to reach from M6, easy to find. Plenty of parking. Big room, very comfortable, suitable for longer stays. Near Kendal, only 1.5 miles from Windermere, easy access to Bowness (and e.g. boat trips) Breakfasts very good. Would be happy to return.

Excellent position for Windermere but would have been pleasant if there had been a night time restaurant nearby, as in walking distance but it didn't in anyway lessen the way the place was run. The Guest House is run on a truly "customer service" orientation where nothing is too much trouble, everything is done with a smile and all the staff seem happy. The owner is very visible as she cooks in the kitchen and she obviously interacts well with her staff. Great place, great breakfast no matter how large or how small you have - definitely one to be recommended to friends.

Why Would You Go Anywhere Else
From the start, welcome was so friendly and informative. We were shown to, and around, our room and the facilities were just lovely and clean and comfortable. The house policy on dogs is just right and we didn't feel uncomfortable at all having ours with us. It's a perfect spot from which to explore the area. Elliot and Debbie the owners are clearly perfectionists and the lovely breakfast backed that up. All in all our stay was made here and we are definitely going back.

Stayed for a business trip in May 2018. Both Debbie and Elliot are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to see how you are, how your day was etc. Some good food recommendations too. Windermere is less than a 10 minute drive so offers a great location. Rooms were great, although lacking a table for the laptop- perhaps an indication that the outside is for the better! Recent new beds made it a very comfortable nights sleep. Would happily go back

We were not impressed by being asked for payment on arrival - before we had seen the room! We still had our coats on and our luggage with us. It go better but not much. Not a pretty house. Noisy main road and a big garage next door. Frankly for a rural retreat a Nono. OK for drivers just wanting a bed

Great base for getting about the area.
A real home from home run by really nice people. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and well furnished and only a short walk from an excellent local pub! Breakfast presented an excellent selection of hot and cold fare and all freshly cooked to order. Top class.

We had a very pleasant stay at this clean and comfortable accommodation which is conveniently located for Windermere. Everyone was really friendly and the breakfast was really good. Great location for walkers and those with a dog.

although we only stayed one night ,We would truly stay there again, the landlady was so friendly and made everyone welcome. the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. the surroundings were breathtaking and we were only a short drive from windemere and the lakes. An excellent stay - a tidy and clean hotel in a great location just 5 minutes from Windermere. The hotel is really comfortable and the quality of the furnishings are excellent. Rosemary is a fantastic host and is very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely location, lovely people, lovely stay!!!
Loved it. Real homely feel and very welcoming. Easy access to the South Lakes as conveniently situated between Kendal and Windermere. The people there are absolutely lovely and it is highly recommended that you stay. It is close to the road so bear in mind if you're a light sleeper (I am but it was fine). My girlfriend is pregnant so it was a tight squeeze on the double bed but we managed :-) Value for the money - this is absolutely on the mark. Cleanliness - without question, it's spotless! For those that like their ales/lagers, the local pub (1-2 minute walk) is well worth the visit as well :-) Recommended.

La posizione non rappresenta le foto assolutamente....si trove sul ciglio di una strada in mezzo a nulla. Il verde che si nota nelle foto e' più lontano di li La camera molto spartana, umida e con un tot di polvere. La colazione va fatta dalle 8,15 alle 8,45 praticamente in una sala con cucina e l,odore ti rimane tutta la giornata sugli abiti. Dopo diverse guest house questa e' sicuramente la prima scadente....

Close to a great Tavern for dinner
Linda looked after us extremely well and was most welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and very nice room. Our bedroom was adequate and had a bath which we had asked for. Only 1 flight of stairs and not too steep. We really enjoyed meals at the nearby Tavern and there was plenty of information re sightseeing etc.

Great stay over the Easter weekend
We had a great stay over the Easter weekend. Made very welcome by the owners. A comfortable room with a good size bathroom. Excellent breakfast to set you up for a day's walking. The Watermill Inn is two minutes walk away and serves decent pub food.

Meadowcroft Guest House - Quality Home from Home
The Meadowcroft Country Guest House is cheerfully and personally run, with attention to detail. The needs of guests is at the forefront of focus, as evidenced in the quality, variety and presentation of food and drink, as well as the accommodation. Well planned rooms with excellent decor, furnishings and bedding, and en suite facilities you'd be delighted with in your own home. We'd like to think we'll be back there again soon. Very happily recommended.
