Hotel on the main street with the pros & contras
Although I had booked a quiet room well in advance and had made my request clear in writing, I was given a room on the very busy and very noisy main road. The receptionist argued with me and claimed no request had been made. Then after I showed her the proof; she told me I should have booked a room at the back. Although as a non-resident I have no idea which rooms, or which side or which floor is described as "quiet". However, an absolute no go blaming the customer and not even being able to go out of their way to check if there is any way to offer a quiet room to the guest. Bad! I couldn't sleep all night and will not recommend or book this hotel again. I only got an apology after 10 minutes of very rude discussion. Pros: Very clean room, breakfast is good (coffee variations cost extra), friendly check-out staff and the highly recommended Italian restaurant that belongs to the hotel.

Enjoyed everything,staff were exceptional,food very good,only slight complaint is that the decor on our room needed attention,bathroom door needed replacing,shower tray over flowed as plug was blocked,ceiling tiles marked and in the bathroom 2 were broken

The check In experience was quick and fairly simple. The bed was terrible, very uncomfortable, almost felt like we were sinking. Would have expected at least a water bottle in the room. The whole breakfast experience was simply horrible. My child apart from just being a child, is autistic. The hotel were already made aware of this when we booked. Breakfast once ordered took more than 35 minutes. The omelette looked overly browned. The coffee was lukewarm. The continental selection was a sorry sight to look at. Apart from the cleanliness which was excellent the only other good thing was the Italian restaurant. Other than that not at all an inclusive hotel. Terrible experience.

We would have been more than happy to make fresh coffee and chef to re do your omelette to your liking, we are always more than willing to give our guests the best experience possible. Great that there is lots of easy access parking. The Italian restaurant serves great food and the hotel breakfast sets you up for the day. In room WiFi was very useful to stay in touch with family.

A good 3 star where the staff make all the difference - Ken you are a legend! A last minute booking for us due to a family emergency, we arrived late around 11.30pm and they couldn’t have made us feel more welcome and be more friendly. Hotel has a nice reception area and lounge and good breakfast. Some minor maintenance bits but nothing that detracted from the above. Will stay again.

Very friendly and accommodating, especially as I booked last minute. Great breakfast! Rooms could be a bit cleaner but I’ve stayed in worse.

All good. Clean room that had what was needed. Great service from the lady on reception who also looked after the bar. Breakfast was good again with everything you would expect. Overall a great stay.

A cost effective Huddersfield Hotel
Stayed in a standard twin room. 248 Small but adequate for a two night stay. Mattress and pillows on the hard size. Excellent tea and coffee making facilities and nice to have the little “hotel extras” missing at the more expensive Premier Inn. Good bathroom but the ceiling could do with cleaning, it has stains caused by moisture. Our room faced the main Halifax Road. A room at the back will be better if you like the window open at night.

The bedroom area was beautiful and clean, with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was clean, expect an area of mould on the ceiling in the shower. I think this was due to the extraction fan not working. The staff were friendly and professional and very helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you

We asked for a quiet room for business and instead got room 237 which had a constant loud banging and sounded like the ceiling would collapse. This happened all through the night so for 2 nights we did not sleep. It was shocking.
