Super Unterkunft nahe Gatwick Airport. Wir waren eine Nacht hier bevor wir von London Gatwick in die Karibik geflogen sind. Die Unterkunft ist schön, sauber und der Gastgeber war sehr nett. Morgens konnten wir schnell und problemlos ausschenken und mit dem Zug zum Flughafen fahren. In der Umgebung gibt es verschiedene Pubs und Restaurants. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Gute Zuganbindung an Gatwick und London Innenstadt
Ich suchte für den Vorabend eines Meetings in Zentral London eine preiswerte Unterkunft mit guten Zuganbindungen. Für diesen Zweck war The Lawn genau richtig: 5 Minuten Fußweg zum Bahnhof Horley, von dort gute Zugverbindungen zum Flughafen Gatwick und nach London. Der Inhaber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit; ganz in der Nähe gibt es gute und nette Lokale. Das Haus ist ein typisch englisches Backsteinhaus mit viel Charme; ruhig gelegen, aber wegen der Holzdecken etwas hellhörig, deshalb in der Gesamtbewertung ein kleiner Abstrich. Würde wieder buchen.

Perfekte Unterkunft, um frühmorgens von Gatwick Airport loszufliegen
Ideale Unterkunft, wenn mann sehr früh morgens von Gatwick abfliegt! Mann kann am Vorabend den Koffer am Flughafen einchecken (je nach Fluggesellschaft), für 8 GBP fährt man dann mit dem Taxi ins The Lawn. Bei der Ankunft wird man dann gleich gefragt, ob man für den nächsten Morgen ein Taxi zum Flughafen braucht und ggf. bestellt (5 GBP). Auf den Zimmern gibts Shampoo und Seife, gegen Bezahlung auch Zahnpasta u.ä. -> wegen Flüssigkeiten im Handgepäck bei bereits aufgegebenem Koffer muss man sich also keine Gedanken machen. Einen Wasserkocher, Tee und Kekse gibts es ebenfalls. Kontinentales Frühstück steht ab 3 Uhr morgens zur Verfügung, ab 7 Uhr gibt es English Breakfast.

I’ve never stayed in a hotel like this before and I loved how personalized and convenient it was! The host was very lovely and made sure I had everything I needed. Quick walking distance to the towns center and places to eat. With shuttle and breakfast service. The Lawn Guest House had everything I needed for my one night stay and I felt so welcome and comfortable here!

We stayed here during an overnight layover in London. Quasim was very helpful when it came to organizing a late check in, an early check out, and a taxi to the airport. We enjoyed the village of Horley and even made it out for a pint! We would stay here again.

The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant. We were able to arrive after midnight from Gatwick airport with a prearranged access system. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and will definitely book again

This was a really nice place. The room was spacious, and everything looked very nice. The host was able to book us a taxi to the airport for a decent price (cash only). The journey to the airport was very brief. The strange thing about it was that the shower had no door separating it from the bedroom, which is a bit strange for a room with two twin beds. Fine for a couple, but a bit awkward in other situations. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant place to stay near the airport!

Would not stay here again
Good location, adequate sized room for family of 4. Good bathroom. Polite and helpful owner. Tight parking. Incredibly hot rooms with no ventilation. Despite it being a frosty December night, we had to have a fan on all night, heating turned to '0' and window open about 3" (the most it would open) but were still uncomfortable. Wafer thin walls allowed every exaggerated word of insane woman in next room's repeated phone calls to be heard until gone 3am. Worse nights sleep ever!

The proprietor was not present when we arrived, but was able to buzz us in remotely. The room was very attractive and comfortable, but the heat did not come on in the house until several hours after we arrived. Breakfast was basic and vegetarian. The location was excellent for walking to a wide variety of appealing restaurants for dinner.

The manager, Quasim, picked me up from the airport very quickly, and provided an excellent itinerary and directions, allowing me to see many attractions in nearby London in the very short time I had. He even drove me to the train station, and helped me purchase a travel pass, so that I could catch the train on time.

The property was very close to Gatwick airport and in quiet road. We were given a warm welcome by Quasim. Room was very clean and adequate for an overnight stay. Parking excellent. What I didn't like was that a wet towel had been left on back of entry door, probably missed by housekeeping. The room also smelled of stale smoke. I understand this is illegal in hotels and guest houses so perhaps there is something else that smells similar? I would stay again although perhaps not in room 6 due to the smell.

Great room in a good location. 5 minute walk to Horley High Street. Room, and the entire facility, was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Check-in and reception was fast and staff was friendly and helpful. We will be back next time we fly in or out of LGW.

This was a lovely spot to spend the night between flights from Gatwick airport. Quasim is an amazing host and the place was clean and within a 5-minute walk to restaurants. The transportation service to and from the airport was a bonus. We only had carry-on luggage so taking it up and down the stairs was no problem, as there is no lift. Would definitely stay there again.

The owner was friendly and outgoing however there was a musty smell in the bedrooms that didn’t go away with windows open. The rooms could have been cleaner as evidenced by the failure to remove dirty coffee cups from our room. There were lights bulbs burnt out in our room which the owner didn’t look after even after being told and it was annoying to have to reach up and reset the breaker when the bathroom lights were turned on. Even after these issues, we still had a good stay.

Great place to stay near Gatwick
Personable and hospitable service from our host. For £15, he collected us from Gatwick South to his Guesthouse in a lovely Mercedes MPV and shared local information on the way, including getting iff ar Horley would have saved us the taxi fare. That's a great host, when it's not all about what he can charge. Room was lovely and had a comfortable sleep, especially as they had provided a large fan, which was very much needed. Would stay again.

No AC( my bad for not catching) Room was Very dirty. left over a bottle of liquor left on shelf. Dusty candy and sugar packets on the floor under a chair, carpet, old and dirty. Took the cover off at the duvet, it was too hot, the duvet was covered in yellow stains, disgusting.

Really happy with the Lawn guest house. Room was very nice, people that run it were really helpful and it is walking distance to have a local Meal. Parking is secure on site which was an added benefit to me. I would Highly recommend to others
