No restaurant now but five star breakfast.
The Belfry was lovely, however we arrived around 7pm on a wet and windy evening, only to find that they don't have a restaraunt now and haven't had for nine years. After travelling all day expecting to relax with a lovely meal as per the photo's on the website of various meals had shown, we were dissapointed to have to check in then drive a around five miles in terrible weather to get dinner. However the wonderful breakfast next morning was five star.

Thank you very much for your review. The only photos on this website and our own website are of breakfast dishes - poached egg on toast, poached egg and buckwheat pancake or our Full Belfry Breakfast. There are no evening meal photos and haven't been for many years.

Little gem of a place
We found this place by accident but thank goodness we did! Our 1 night stay was amazing! Perfect hosts, beautiful room and amazing breakfasts in the morning. Extremely friendly hosts who were more than happy to recommend a nearby pub for delicious home cooked food. Will definitely stay again 😍

A very interesting and characterful building. The room was superb.Upmarket tone with lovely touches. Fantastic comfortable bed, great shower etc. The breakfast was freshly prepared to order and again was really good with unusual touches and evidently high quality ingredients used. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming.Absolutely no complaints.

The property used to be a school I never went to it I went strait to Honiton.The church across the road I used to go to and my Mother and Father are buried their. As I live in Canada now I wanted to pay my respects to them so renting their was perfect.

An excellent breakfast, delicious wide range of foods, and well prepared/served in a pleasant dining room. Dinner is not served, but there are a number of pubs nearby and information is provided by The Belfry host.

The Belfry is certainly a 5 star experience the cleanliness and comfort of the room was not to be faulted, all the little touches that make this better than others I have stayed at, the toiletries, the fridge with complimentary fruit juices, luxury teas and coffee, the breakfast with all the fresh ingredients. Spent two fantastic nights here and Will certainly use again if back in the area.

Pure excellence !
A great place to stay. Yarcombe itself has strong links to Sir Francis Drake - he of the Spanish Armada fame. The Belfry is in the old village school, built in 1890, with wonderful church-like windows incorporated into the bedrooms. Everything good, from comfort to breakfast. Lovely little touches such as bath robes, and on the tea trays there's small pair of scissors to cut open those pesky drinks packets - at other guest houses I usually end up using my teeth to tear them open them - plus a little saucer to put your wet teabags and wet tea spoons on. Not to mention the fresh milk and orange juice in a fridge under the stairs !
