„Overall good hotel right at the water. We had a room without sea view, quiet with parking directly in front of the room. Bed was super comfy, however the room could've had a little more thought put into it. There were no electrical outlets next to the bed, plus the switch for the night stand lights could not be reached when lying in bed. The windows could not be closed, so we had bugs inside. The bathroom did not have a fan to expel the moist air, which causes problems on the ceiling. In ...

„Sehr schönes Motel mit liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmern. Ruhige Lage, direkt am Strand (durch eine Strasse getrennt) gelegen. In Gehdistanz findet man zwei Restaurants und einen kleinen Markt mit Post.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder im Opononi Lighthouse Motel übernachten. “

„Lovely welcoming hosts, Lise was prompt and attentive. We just stayed the one night but it was a very restful and relaxing stay, very private and serene garden areas to enjoy, and all just a short walk to the Kohukohu CBD : ) Very handy to the pub and shop and just across the street from the bowls club where the locals will happily welcome you for a sneaky beverage, there’s some folks there enjoying a bowl and a beer most nights during the summer nights.“

„Beach cottage (also called Orowaru cottage) is a gem. We had a great week there. I can particularly recommend sitting on the front verandah watching the tide roll in and out. Deeply peaceful. And well appointed for your every need. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Hokianga and Whangape Harbours. So many marae, so many early churches, friendly locals wherever we went. I came home with a lovely handmade rug from the Kohukohu Village Arts. The little Kohukohu library is another gem.“
