We are planning to add Sri Lankan black pork curry to our menu to add another favourite Sri lankan dish. And finally - after a year of frustration - we have managed to get a more powerful water pump which we hope to put into operation this weekend. Sorry that it was not in time for your visit.

Dear Maheen Thank-you for your response. Yes, it has been a tough year, post Covid, in Sri Lanka: add on the Easter bombings and many of us had around 3 years with minimal business until November. Then add Sri Lanka's foreign currency crisis which has caused a shoerage of spare parts. But we have battled through successfully, we have a great staff and we have exciting pans for our colonial beach hotel - onwards and upwards. Thanks for us and glad you enjoyed your stay

Thank-you for your review. I suppose one person's "dated" is another person's "historic". We are very clear about the sort of hotel we are - and that is why the vast majority of people like us. (The chairs in your room, incientally, came in December from one of Colombo's trendiest stores). Bathrtoom refurbishments are planned for May / June. The 4-star rating is official by the way, but yes, we agree the rating system, is old fashioned and largely pointless.

Hallo Hanno, vielen Dank für Ihr feed back. Wenn Sie mit der Vielfalt der Speisen nicht zufrieden sind, dann können Sie gerne mit dem Chef sprechen und Ihre persönlichen Wünsche äußern. Ich wundere mich nur darüber, dass Sie unser Speisenangebot als "nicht vielfältig" betrachten. Zusätzlich zu unserer eigentlich sehr umfangreichen Karte haben wir für die Monate Februar und März noch einen deutschen Chef engagiert, der auch noch diverse deutsche und österreichische Gerichte anbietet. Es tut mir leid, dass die sich in der Nähe befindlichen Ausflugsziele, nicht Ihrem Geschmack entsprechen. Unbestritten ist Sri Lanka jedoch eines der vielfältigsten Länder unseres Planeten.
