We stayed for 3 nights over the holidays including Christmas. It’s a hostel so the amenities are spare but the place is clean and comfortable. Mattresses are very firm but it wasn’t a problem for us. Because we stayed for more than 2 nights we received fresh towels and water bottles every day. Check in was easy, we called ahead to let them know our check-in time in advance as they requested. There is not a fully staffed front desk so we needed to call to ask questions but almost everything we needed to know was in their check-in paper. Bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Our room was Korean style so the floors are heated and the shower isn’t closed off from the rest of the bathroom (no stall or tub) but the water pressure was good. Our room also had a mini-fridge, TV with an HDMI port, and clothing rack with hangers. It was close to all the places we needed to be and there’s a convenience store right around the corner. Parking is free and they have their own lot. If you’re staying for multiple days you may want to let them know if you’ll be coming back after 9pm as they usually close the gate of the parking lot at that time. Overall a solid place to crash if you’re in Gwangju and looking for something simple and straightforward!
