Gut: Sauberkeit
With a little work this could be a charming apartment. Unfortunately, that little work wasn't done.
On the plus side
1) great location
2) plenty of space
3) serviceable kitchen
4) good security
5) pleasant decor
On the minus side
1) we never received the code to pick up the key from a local coffee shop despite repeated emails and repeated texts. This led to a 30-minute session at the coffee shop while the barista made phone calls on our behalf to the owner. The contact number we were given was different from the one she used to eventually obtain consent to give us the key without a code.
2) we arrived after dark and there was no light in the steep stairway as we carried up our bags.
3) the programmable thermostat was erratic at best, as to times and locations that were heated. Text requesting operating instructions wasn't answered.
4) hot water was erratic. There were random icy streams in the shower; at one point the kitchen sink didn't get hot water after 2 minutes.
5) bathroom sink was SLOW to drain
6) the assemble-it-yourself toilet. The seat was loose and tightening it didn't last, while the lid was off its hinge entirely.
7) a tab holding a shelf in the fridge door was broken, so the shelf fell out and couldn't be used.
8) multiple lights don't come on
9) street noise, including merchants rolling big metal racks along the cobbles, garbage trucks working, etc. This might not bother some.
