We were thankful for rainy weather because we did not want to leave! „Myself, my wife, and our dog stayed the weekend while I was in town for a seminar and, truthfully, I can't think of a single thing about this property that wasn't wonderful. It's located close to everything in town without being in town itself. It's right off a main road, but the cottage is set back enough so that it is not obtrusive. „My wife and I stayed 4 night in this updated 1700s cottage that was clean and cozy. I’m an early riser so I enjoyed the early mornings by the fire pit and my wife slept in. We visited a lot of the area places ie Strasburg railroad, sight and sound theatre which was amazing! Went to Amish and or Mennonite owned and or run shops and markets and just had a relaxing time when we return to the cottage . The Meck’s did a wonderful job updating yet keeping it from the era. „Much older home with 2 bathrooms ,one on second floor and one on third floor . There was an awful smell coming from the tub on 3rd, floor. My son being a plumber said it was not vented properly. Bedrooms were all upstairs 2nd and 3rd floor, very comfortable beds and clean, Stairs were narrow and hard to climb for the older ones staying, especially just to go to bathroom. Only 1 parking space for property so any extra vehicles had to park elsewhere away from the house, We had to be dropped off ...

„Perfect stay for our scout troop weekend at Hersheypark. The house was clean and comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed and plenty of space for our group. It was a safe quiet neighborhood about 20 minutes from the park. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep and the downstairs much colder than upstairs but overall it was exactly what we needed, would stay here again.“

„Wonderful historic building close to downtown Gettysburg. Stairs to second floor difficult to navigate for an older person. Hospitality by owner was excellent. Giving up a few amenities to be in such a historic setting was well worth it!“

There was a small issue with our code not working on the door when we arrived, but this was quickly resolved by the property manager and later on, the property owner dropped by to ensure we were settling in okay and to personally apologize for the inconvenience. „This house was great for a long weekend in PA. We grew up near Mt. Gretna and were well aware of the quirky charm of the Campmeeting. The house is quite small which was just fine for us. The house is on a pedestrian-only street which made it a challenge for our phones to locate with gps.“
