Close to many hiking trails and small towns like Chestertown (check out the Bullhouse restaurant) and North Creek (Gore Mountain gondola, Izzy’s Market & Deli, Barkeater Chocolates). It’s also a quick drive to Lake George, but I was looking to avoid crowds. Nice bonus to have Tripp Pond on the property for swimming and kayaking (hint: arrive early in the day or later in the afternoon ...
