„We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point. Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well. Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting. The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated. Definitely recommend 10/10“

„What a gem, I have never been to the Lake District before and my jaw dropped the second you pull into the car park. I had made a note that we were celebrating a few special occasions and were given an upgrade I believe and a lovely card when we got to our room. The hotel is really easy to find your way around, nice staff, good food and drinks (malibu sunset was a personal fave). The lamb shank was delicious for a Sunday roast. „From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north.“

„Lovely room at the Royal Oak, perfect for a quick stay. Bed was comfy and shower was good, what more could you ask for! Pub was not open Sunday evening, so we didn't get to eat here, but heard that the food is very good. No breakfast in morning, but lots of options in Cartmel so wasn't an issue. Would recommend.“
