Hi Katie, thank you for the review and feedback. Unfortunately the way the Hotel partners set up the site, there is no easy way to advertise the fact about bathrooms being shared on certain rooms. It is in the room description and a message is also sent to the person booking automatically on booking that also has these details. I have checked and yours was sent at 22:31 on the 22nd of April. I’m glad you found the bed comfortable and enjoyed the surrounding area.I have taken note of your suggestion for a key coded door rather than a key safe, this would certainly resolve the issue you faced and we can only again apologies for the inconvenience of having to wait outside for my arrival. Sorry to hear it was not what you expected. We do suggest that you always look at any accommodations listing in detail before making a booking and we would have of course canceled your booking without any charges if you had told us that you hadn’t noticed the shared bathroom. The shared bathroom is not for all 6 rooms, certain other rooms do have an en suite which again can be found on the listing. Unfortunately you arrived on the Chinese new year where a special and very popular pre booked only menu was being served, I am glad the chef went out of his way to serve you something from the main menu, as we always try and do what we can for customers, yes we do cook the regular menu day in and day out however the chef normally preps for these meals well in advance of dinner service and as we do not serve frozen fast food, it unfortunately would have taken time. He felt that due to the severe flooding we were also dealing with that it wouldn’t have been fair to turn you away. The room you booked was larger than the standard doubles and yes has two windows overlooking the river Avon. I will pass the comments onto housekeeping about the sheets and appreciate this feedback.

Hi Maria, sorry you have felt the need to provide this feedback, there is no where else to add details about the shared facilities and as you have clearly stated it is added to the room details which we always advise people to read before booking. We do not have a female proprietor so I am not sure who you spoke to but if you email us directly with more information this can be looked into. We certainly would not fall under the category of a ‘Youth Hostel’ a standard room such as the one you booked costs around 45.00 includes parking, tea coffee, towels and televisions with views of the river Avon. It also allows guests to have 10% off at our popular bar and restaurant all of which set it apart from a ‘Youth Hostel’. We had an extremely busy Christmas weekend so I do apologise if we were not able to show you to the room initially, but you do mention that someone went downstairs to get more towels so I assume someone did come to assist you at some point. Again I’m sorry the accommodation was not quite what you expected and wish you all the best in future stays else where.

We have only just recently started trading and appreciate your feedback as we can easily implement most of your recommendations.As pointed out in your review, it does mention that some rooms come with a shared bathroom, unfortunately the age and design of the building limits us to to do much about this aspect, however there is an apartment that has a dedicated bathroom and lounge. This is of course reflective I’m the prices listed. The prices also reflect that you are located next to a beautiful river and weir and a location that has many walking routes in the countryside for a nice quiet getaway. I’m glad that overall you had a positive stay and if you do wish to stay again in the future the apartment is a great option. Thanks again and I hope you have an enjoyable week

Hi Kate, thanks for your feedback and for your positive rating. apologies about the heating, it is the first few days of the year that we have had to turn it on and it was not set correctly on the timer. Tbh is has now been adjusted.The kitchens do have a good stock of mugs and cutlery, there is a draw inside a draw that isn’t the easiest to find! I will look at either moving them to an easier to spot place or maybe putting some signage up.The one small patch that looks like mould is in fact old damage from a leaking gutter that has been fixed, that one small area is scheduled to be re painted this week so should soon look nice and fresh again :) thanks again for all of your comments and the other mentioned items will also be actioned to make other guests stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible :) have a good week.
