The Laichmoray is a great hotel with a lot of very friendly people that made my stay a lovely experience. Sometimes seagulls can wake you up, but this does not happen everyday. ;) It's clean and quiet - everything I needed for a week. Don't forget to try the bar that offers a lot of whiskeys. Thanks to the Laichmoray people!

Hôtel pratique pour une étape d'un voyage, mais qui oblige à un déplacement par véhicule si l'on ne souhaite pas diner sur place. Chambre correcte et calme, le manque d'ascenseur est comble par une offre de port des bagages dans la chambre

Average stay but bizarre
Very average service, Tea/coffee tray on the bottom shelf of a cupboard under hanging clothes, bizarre. WiFi terrible in room - could get any work done - better in bar to be honest. Bathroom - very very bizarre - sink is on the back of the toilet. To shave I had the toilet bowl between my legs. I am small & I'm glad, smallest bathroom in history, quite amusing. Breakfast - order night before by 8pm! Another bizarre one - not sure of reason - maybe chef struggles with demand so knowing what I want so knowing what I want 12 hours in advance gives time to prepare! Sausage - tick, bacon - tick etc etc I stay in different hotels across the country twice a week, never seen this! Breakfast lovely though, has to be said. Would I stay again, not sure, just all a little bizarre. Price decent but should be - more expensive for a decent size of room no doubt.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments. Unfortunately the budget rooms are our smallest and we try to make the best use of the space as it is a listed building. We do ask our guests to pre-order so we can reduce the waiting time for guests in the morning but also providing the a freshly cooked breakfast. Should you stay with us again please note that if you prefer we will take an order in the morning if that is your preference, Once again - thank you for staying at the Laichmoray

Fabulous hotel for short stay
Stayed one night to split a journey. Hotel was easy to find with lots of parking. Friendly staff, helpful check-in and attentive in nice restaurant. Food was excellent both evening meal and large breakfast. Room neat and tidy with modern clean bathroom

Great breakfast options
The room was small but perfectly useable- sink behind toilet is not ideal but OK for a cheaper stay. Breakfast options make this hotel a great place- you can select room service or take away breakfast, which was perfect for me

More care should be given when cleaning, especially bathroom - rubbish from previous guests were still in the bin, bath and sink haven't been cleaned, only wiped at most. Cups and spoons looked used and dirty as well. The reception staff is excellent, very attentive, polite and friendly.

Accueil parfait
Très bon séjour dans l’ensemble avec une mention particulière pour l’accueil et la prise en charge. Le personnel du bar/restaurant notamment était adorable et a particulièrement contribué à ce joli séjour. Les chambres étaient juste un peu bruyantes, ce qui peut faire peur en allant se coucher, mais tout le monde s’est couché tôt dans notre couloir donc ça n’a pas été un problème bien longtemps.

The staff were very obliging and friendly. Nothing was ever a bother. The hotel is located in an ideal place for shopping and going for walks. The restaurant was very good value and the food was excellent.

Weddings at the Laichmoray Hotel
Wonderfull non-chain hotel. Spotless superb rooms, beautifully cooked food, both dinner and breakfast. Easy on site parking, and short walk to the town centre. Wedding facilities were brilliant.

We are very sorry that you were allocated a room on the third floor, unfortunately as a list building Historic Scotland will not allow us to install a lift. We are also sorry that you found the bed uncomfortable, we change our beds and mattresses regularly and they are double sprung for comfort - our apologies

This is a great stopover when you are exploring the area. No elevators in case that is a problem, but generally the hotel was great, showers were good, and food hit the spot!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Laichmoray Hotel. The room was comfortable and it was a pleasure to have an updated & modern bathroom. Cleanliness was a high standard which was apparent in every part of the hotel. The service staff were exceptional! They were so friendly and helpful. They truly went out of their way to accommodate our needs. There was a bar as well as restaurant service which was available as dine-in, room service or take away. The meals that we had were very good. They don’t have a lift so accessibility would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Our room faced the main road and we found it noisy at night until about 11:00 p.m.

Great stay for MacMoray festival
Very friendly helpful staff, great stay in a large comfortable room. Very well situated with a short walk to the Train Station, High Street and other amenities. Not keen on ordering breakfast the evening before, because of this we only had it on our first morning out of 3, not sure if it was prepared in advance but we both found it quite tasteless, but this was the only negative point of our stay.

Very close to the train station & bus stops. Friendly staff. Good restaurant with delicious food. If you're visiting for whisky tasting specifically, we found that the taxis from Elgin are quite expensive - £50 to Dufftown one way, it's probably better to stay closer to Dufftown in that case.
