The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, from rolling hills and peaceful woodlands to abundant wildlife. Nature lovers can visit RSPB Mersehead (6.5 miles), while golf enthusiasts are well catered for with two courses nearby, including the championship links at Southerness (9 miles). Here for the cycling? Explore quiet country lanes or tackle the 7Stanes mountain bike trails at Dalbeattie Woods (5.7 miles) and Mabie Forest (18 miles).


The cottage is located along a sloped road. Inside, the cottage has an inviting sitting room for unwinding after a day out, with a TV, DVD player and CD player for relaxed evenings indoors. Prepare slap-up meals in the kitchen, then sit down to eat them in the dining area. There are two thoughtfully arranged bedrooms: one double and one twin, which can be made into a king-size on request. The bathroom has fitted both a bath and a separate shower – ideal for indulgent soaks or quick refreshes after exploring.


Outside, you’ll have to an enclosed patio garden that’s perfect for soaking up the fresh Scottish air in privacy. There’s a bistro set and additional seating for laid-back breakfasts or evening drinks, along with a BBQ for al fresco feasts when the weather allows. Bike storage is available and private parking is provided for one car. An electric vehicle charging point is also available (additional charge applies).
