Beautiful views
We stayed one night after a day trip from Culebra. It was a good stop for a very very hot shower (we could not regulate the temperature) but the space was adequate for 4 adults. We did enjoy the deck and the sunrise. We awoke to a couple staying right on the same deck, so that was a surprise but not a problem. Be aware that the electrical pole directly in front of the deck and in the view, hums continually and the beds were not comfortable and no extra blankets for a chilly air conditioning which we also had trouble regulating. All in all, a quick stop and move on. I wouldn’t choose this property for an extended stay.

Easy check in , got early check in with a fee . Great views of harbor. Beautiful deck area . The listing didn’t list 2 bathrooms , so this was a bonus. Master bedroom has own bathroom. Pictures show when new , it’s more lived in but still nice. A lot of stairs to get up to unit so not great for people that can’t do stairs . Overall a good stay. We have visited Culebra several times and would consider staying here again.

The home was absolutely cute! Decoration wise was enough to be cute yet not crowded so you can have enough space to put your own items. Plenty of beds as told and clean. A little smell of moist but to be expected for an island wooden home. Loved the front porch with the amazing view, hammocks and seating area. The only reason why I gave a 4 star rating for the cleanliness is because the fridge only on the outside and the toaster looked like it could use some help and there was a broken pipe outside of the building and in the parking area that had smelly water. This of course is not the fault of the Vrbo owner I think, so just uncomfortable to come to. But overall it was clean and comfortable. Thanks for a good night stay. We look forward to another night stay.

A nice place to end your day
Overall the place is nice. It’s quiet and clean. There isn’t central AC but the 2 bedrooms were very cold which made sleeping incredible. The breeze off the bay was amazing. After a day at the beach the family and I would sit out on the deck and enjoy the evening breeze. It’s spacious and even though it can sleep a higher number in reality I think it’s better suited for a single family. Overall I think you’re getting fair value for the area. Flamenco beach is really nice. Culebra was my favorite part of our trip. Not because of the beauty, but it was really the only time I actually felt like I was on island time. Getting here isn’t easy or cheap. The ferry is hit or miss. I spoke with many travelers who said they couldn’t get ferry tickets so they ended up booking flights. (About 100 pp each way) . Overall, since I’m just supposed to be reviewing the room I’d have to say it met or exceeded the expectations.

Poor and overpriced
We stayed 3 nights. First the good: great views and very nice balcony, parking spot in front. Now the bad: don’t be fouled by the pictures since they don’t reflect the reality. 1) Furniture is very basic and old 2)cleanliness is poor . The fridge door was disgusting, smudged and dirty. 3) cockroaches. We killed cockroaches every day of our stay. We found them on the kitchen counters and also inside the drawer where silverware was stored and in the main bedroom. Disgusting! 4) no hot water. If you are lucky you can get it lukewarm. We showered every time with cold water. For $200+ a night this place is way overpriced. A fair rate would be $100. Not a dime more!

Water view location, good central apot
The upper deck provides great view of the water. Peaceful watching the sail boats anchoring for the evening. The villa does have 2 bathrooms versus the description of just 1. This was a welcomed surprise. However we did have challenges with the master shower and hot water. Bed sheets were soft linens. Cross breeze with the villa setup enabled us to enjoy the fresh air.

Great view and cozy villa
Everything was super clean. We have everything we need except beach towels*. Great location! We enjoyed the balcony, is gorgeous! Feels like paradise! We rent a Jeep in Carlos Jeep rental. We also when to the best beach “Culebrita” with H2O Water Taxi, they provide everything you need for the beach day, this is a most! Also, we when to Flamenco beach BEAUTYFUL, white sand! Advise: Go to the supermarket early at your arrival, and buy everything you need for breakfast, snacks and dinner, and everything you need to cook. Everything close early and we almost left without eating dinner the first night. Thank God for Caracoles Restaurant owner, even though they were close they were there to cook for them and he did a special menu for us so we can eat that night. Overall: Best getaway! I can wait to do it again.

Little Piece of Heaven
We spent two wonderful weeks of relaxation at Playa Sardinas II. The location is perfect. Walking distance to restaurants, groceries, and downtown area. The view from the porch is breathtaking. We enjoyed our breakfasts sitting outside while enjoying the view or the company of the couples in the one unit villa. The unit is clean, ample, well supplied and a has constant breeze. The bed in Master bedroom is very comfortable. We didn't use the other room. We were surprised to find that the Master bedroom has an adjacent bathroom. So the unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Communication with the owner is excellent. This villa shares the balcony with the one bedroom villa. For us it was fun to meet some sweet, interesting couples who rented that unit while we were there. I most definitely recommend this villa.

Della struttura abbiamo apprezzato la vista è il terrazzo. L’appartamento internamente presentava una camera matrimoniale carina, mente la seconda camera era indecente, molto umida, con crepe e segni di umidità sulla parete. La pulizia (soprattutto dei bagni) era scarsa, tanto che appena arrivati abbiamo dovuto richiedere la sostituzione degli asciugamani poiché sporchi e accatastati malamente. Le stoviglie erano inutilizzabili, riposte in un cassetto sporco. Sul terrazzo materassini con coperture sporche e mai lavate, inutilizzabili. Assolutamente non vale il prezzo pagato

Great waterfront view from large terrace, comfortable bed, quiet AC, meals on deck delightful AM&PM
My wife and I (mid 60's active couple) stayed here for 2 weeks end of January into February. This location was ideal, woke up each morning from comfortable queen bed and quiet AC (which we barely used), opened the bedroom double doors to deck to warm coastal breeze and beautiful view from eastern facing terrace. We ate breakfast and dinners at terrace picnic table (when we weren’t enjoying variety of local restaurants). We met Hector 2 different time in person. He was responsive to any concerns or questions. We had 2 different sets of renters in small unit adjacent to us on deck and found them (and renters in apartment on terrace above us) very respectful of our privacy and considerate of excessive noise. Both sets of renters (adjacent to our unit) were friendly and enhanced our vacation experience. If you are expecting the perfect finishes and décor of a US based upscale hotel, you will not find that here, but not really important to us. With the very comfortable sleeping arrangement; ceiling fans throughout unit; adequate bathrooms and kitchen with decent equipment for food prep; flat panel TV/satellite hookup; and perfect location for exploring Culebra’s beautiful beaches and snorkeling spots --we would rent this again. The second bedroom (which we didn’t use except for closet) had 2 sets of bunk beds with one having a double bed at bottom. This seemed more suited for children or a couple on the double bed. A previous post mentioned unavailability of fresh fruits and vegetables. We found that not really accurate. In 2 weeks we were there we found no problem getting all salad ingredients and fresh fruits (e.g. clementines, pears, bananas). Fresh fruits and vegetables are not delivered daily here so sometimes timing is a factor but there are 2 good size markets in main town and another by airport selling most things you might need. (Much of vegetables like red or green peppers are sold in plastic sealed small packages) - not large full bins like in US markets. Leaving doors open onto deck was never a problem, even after dark, with no mosquito or bug problems. Unit was clean and garbage at street was picked up frequently throughout week. Delightful breezes and stunning views from the deck of Villa 3!
We enjoyed our time in Villa 3 last week. The property was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect. We were easily able to get to the market and most of the beaches (Punto Soldado, Flamenco, Carlos Rosario, Melones, and Tamarindo) in our rented golf cart from there. We awoke to morning sunsets and took in the views of boats coming into and out of Ensenada Honda. The evening breezes were refreshing as we sat on the deck sipping our rum punches. Both Hector and Carmen were easily reached by phone or text for any questions about the property. If we return to Culebra, we will definitely consider Villa 3 in our plans!

Beware: the photos and comments are not the whole picture!
Two updates to the online presentation of this property: the owner is nowhere to be found and does not respond to calls or emails. Carmen, the property manager, was reachable but was not on the island as far as we could tell. More importantly, it is a shared space. There are renters sharing the balcony with you, as well as people directly above you, so it is not a secluded or private getaway at all. A few other notes: there is no oven, no beach towels, the porch furniture was broken. Culebra is simple, and that is its charm, but this property at this price should have been more than it was. As long as you understand this, it can serve as a good base for exploring the island. Last note: if you want fresh vegetables or fruit buy them on the main island. The grocery stores are very basic and geared towards canned and frozen food.

Patricia, if owner were available all the time, he wouldn't have the need of a property manager. He does go to Culebra at least once a month, to deliver materials and get guests' feedback. As you stated, I'm reachable and if I don't answer, guests can leave message and as soon as I'm available, I get back to them. Our communication with housekeeper, who's OUR contact person there, is on going and if a situation arises, it is solved as soon as possible. There are a couple of chairs we have to get rid of but being there is no place in Culebra to get rid of big things, we have to stay with them until they can be taken to the main Island, so that'll be taken care of in the following days. As for not being private or secluded, this is an apartment and apartments are in buildings or houses and each of the apartments is private. The apartment you pass to get to yours is a studio for two people, this shouldn't be an issue. Besides, it's not written anywhere that it is private or secluded. We want to thank you for your advise of getting fresh fruits and vegetable before taking the ferry. The supermarkets there bring limited amounts of perishable items and it's a hit or miss when shopping for them.

First of all Hector was a great host! The house was clean and very well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay in Culebra One thing I did not read in the property description was there are quite a few stairs to get to the property and for somebody elderly or with physical disabilities could be extremely difficult to get to the apartment. Even though the apartment was very nice I believe it was overpriced! The nightly rate was great however there was a “guest fee” that was charged and was never explained to me. I did discuss with Hector but this particular charge was made by home away, who never really explained what the charge is about and it ended up being more than the cost of this stay. I would stay in this house again but I would never go through home away again.

Perfect Little Island Getaway with Gorgeous Sunset Views!
My family spent just under a week at Hector's lovely home on Isla Culebra, and we loved every minute of it! We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the porch and reading out loud on the lounge chairs at night after watching the sunset. The bedrooms have new AC units which are silent and efficient on warmer nights, and the cross-breeze throughout the unit is amazing. Kitchen was stocked with basic pots, pans, cutlery, etc. and the grill was a nice feature for BBQ. The house is perched high on a hillside with beautiful views of the bay, and is a 2-minute drive to town, about 5-7 minutes to Flamenco Beach. Thank you for making our Spring Break one of the most memorable ever!
