„If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. Thank you once again to our host Martin who meets guests at the gate to lead you through the forest.“

„Great location!! Shepherds hut fully equipped and well thought out, even has a picnic basket and blanket. Host is super friendly and helpful. Easy access to local community, walks, cycle tracks through beautiful forests with picnic spots along the way. Safe environment and free parking a short walk from the accommodation. Braai (barbecue) and fire pit. As SAFFA’s was great to sit around the fire under the stars braaing marshmallows. Thanks for an awesome stay.“

„4 night stay April 2026 (Sunday to Thursday) - accommodation very clean, comfortable and modern, hosts very welcoming - location peaceful (a few sheep and horses over the fence at the bottom of the garden, but no noise) and nice dark skies (I saw a few Lyrid meteors during my stay!). Great kitchen facilities (so you can easily self-cater if you want) and excellent shower, better accommodation than a hotel if visiting the area IMHO. Well located, Hastings, Rye & Great Dixter all a quick drive ...

„We had an amazing stay. Bob and Liz were lovely and friendly hosts, provided a really nice breakfast and a nice, tasteful welcome package in the fridge. The authentic cottage was a lovely and peaceful place to stay, well renovated and well accomodated. As is the case in most cottages, some of the beams and ceilings are quite low, so watch your head. The walks on the grounds between the bluebells are an absolute must in spring. In the nearby area the places to visit are Plaw Hatch Farm, Bluebell ...

"Frühstücksauswahl war gut und reichhaltig. Jedoch mussten wir am Samstag schon so früh ausschenken, dass es wir um ein Lunchpaket gebeten haben. Dieses war jedoch etwas dürftig. Lediglich zwei Sandwich (Zwei Scheiben Toast, zwei Scheiben Schinken, und Käse) sowie zwei Bananen und zwei verpackte Kekse. Punkt. Vielleicht hätten wir genauer beschreiben sollen was Welt gerne hätten. Dafür konnten wir schon die Kaaffeemaschine nutzen und ToGo Becher verwenden. Toll ist die Nähe zum Bahnhof und dass man ebenerdig hingehen kann. Mit großen Koffern ist das sehr angenehm. Das Gebläse der Klimaanlage war leider direkt über dem Bett, weswegen wir sie nachts ausschalten mussten, um keine Erkältung zu riskieren und die Zugluft unangenehm war. Ansonsten war der Aufenthalt sehr angenehm, gerne wieder. Vampire gab es auch keine, da das Reinigungspersonal Knoblauchkränze an den Putzwägen montiert hat. 😁 *lol*"

"Recommend to book a Superior room with seaview for a wonderful view over the sea! I usually book standardrooms but here it's worth it, thank me later! If you book trough hotels.com and not directly trough the hotel, you have to pay a fee for the spa. I don't like that you have a disadvantage as a hotels.com-guest... other than that, the hotel was lovely, best location by the sea and friendly staff :)"

"Das Frühstück war etwas enttäuschend, Englisches Frühstück für 12 Pfund pro Person ist nicht gerechtfertigt. Es gab nur eine Wurst ein Schinken zwei Sorten Käse und dann klassisches warmes Essen, aber keine Gurken ,Tomaten oder Paprika. Positiv ist aber die möglich keit ein Omelett frisch mit drei zusatz Zutaten nach Wahl zu erhalten."
