So much character !!
Fantastic stay. Loved the rickety floors, huge beams and air of mystery that comes with old properties The village is small but so pretty. Breakfast was fabulous.

Stunning olde property
Lovely property, and very responsive staff. Our bed was a bit small, but I think that's simply a function of being in an old building with narrow passages and stairways. Restaurant was exceptional, as was the location.

Charming old pub
Lovely old pub that's full of character and charm. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant, staff were friendly and helpful. My only issue was how hot the room was, we had the radiator turned off and the window open and even then the room was roasting.

Hotel was ok but with being an old building was very creaky, not so sure if this was a charming nostalgic feature or just a nuisance, personal choice. Also i had a room with a shared bathroom so wasnt to pleased about thatand was in a front bedroom next to a very dusy road but in general was an ok hotel.

Cosy stay.
Stayed here on the way to the Big Cat Sanctuary. V quirky and fun. Not for tall people with no sense of humour and probably awkward for the elderly on the top rooms, with low ceilings, long narrow and low passages. Expected of a property of this vintage. Comfortable, cosy room. Good food evening and breakfast. Great service.

Beautiful historic public house.
Lovely room with 4 poster bed at front of hotel. Tea and coffee supplied in room with home made biscuits. Staff excellent and friendly. Breakfast freshly cooked how you wanted. Meals very good with wide choice. Only bad point is the extremely busy road right outside and due to the heatwave we had the windows open wide. We were woken by the non-stop traffic by 6am both days.

A hidden gem
Fantastic place to stay. Building is atmospheric and authentic-very quirky. Bedroom was well appointed and bed very comfortable. Food on restaurant delicious and staff were wonderful and helpful. Lovely place to stay.

Excellent staff who took up the shortfall at the restaurant and could not have done enough to make sure we were well catered for in a timely manner.

Comfortable oldish Kent inn...
Goudhurst is a quaint Kentish town but the main road through it is tiny and makes a tight curve just outside the hotel—the traffic can literally jam up in seconds. That said, I had a spacious shared-bath (bath was spotless and large) front room and the double-glazed windows kept it quiet. The staff was friendly, the back patio-terrace was lovely on a spring day and the pub-restaurant was fine. Very large breakfast included. It has a nice, friendly feel to it. Don’t be too put off by the road—the other guests seemed to enjoy the place, as well.

Quaint Village Hotel
Lovely old Hotel. Great welcome and comfortable room. Sadly the chef arrived late next morning and nothing prepared for breakfast. Cold tea was served, the chef then threw a strop and walked out so being short of time, we had to seek breakfast elsewhere.

A very pleasant short break in this charming hotel with very helpful and polite staff. Room was very comfortable even though the route along a very low ceiling corridor was hazardous for my 6ft accident prone husband ! Goudhurst is long overdue for a bypass as the traffic spoils the very pretty village.

Highly recommend. Beautiful hotel with lots of character. Staff very friendly and the meals are excellent. Bed very comfy (I'm very fussy when it comes to beds). Would def stay again.

Quaint English rickety old pub full of character, I have marked you down on the cleanliness as I had room 9 and when I had a bath I noticed that the tiles had not been cleaned in a while, but in saying this it would not put me off returning.

Star and Eagle Weekend Break
As we only stayed for the one night, it was all we could ask for, had we stayed for more, then the shared bathroom may have become problematic. The room felt homely, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was well prepared. My only criticism of the shared bathroom is that after using the toilet you have to go to your room to wash your hands, not in my opinion ideal.
