Zu teuer und schlechter Service
Das Hotel liegt an einer schönen Lage. Das Zimmer ist grosszügig, jedoch hatten wir das Zimmerfenster gegen einen Schuppen und somit kein Tageslicht im Zimmer. Sehr schade den die Umgebung war wirklich schön. Wir fühlten uns aber wie in einem schwarzen Loch. Das frühstück war mässig. Die Auswahl beim warmen Essen war gross, jedoch bezweifeln wir dass das frisch gekocht wurde, da das Essen wenige Minuten nach dem bestellen bereits serviert wurde. Das Früchteangebot war sehr lieblos. Äpfel, Birnen und Bananen - überreif oder unreif. Beim Check-in wurde uns angeboten auf den Zimmerservice zu verzichten, was wir andeuteten anzunehmen. Jedoch waren die Anweisungen so schlecht zu verstehen, dass wir dann feststellen mussten, dass trotzdem jemand in unserem Zimmer war und unsere Kleider waren nicht mehr am selben Platz wo wir sie hinterlassen hatten. Tee/Kaffee wurde nicht aufgefüllt und Tassen waren noch schmutzig. Ganz klar mussten wir feststellen dass wir durch die Hotels.com Buchung benachteiligt wurden und das schlechteste Zimmer erhielten. Zudem darf man bei über 200 Pfund pro Nacht einen besseren und freundlicheren Service erwarten.

Very high cost and very negative experience. Real problem with smell from the septic field, even in your room. Rooms are very small and poorly designed. Major problem with constantly standing in line up to 10-15 minutes to order or do anything. Food quality is 5 out of 10 at best. NEVER EVER AGAIN! !

Staff refuses to recognize our VIP Axess status with Expedia as they claimed no such agreement. Our room was a small dark attic type space with low angled ceilings and a tiny window that ruined our stay. Rest chef burned half the hot meals served and English b/f was the worst we eaten in our 8 nights visit to Lakes Dustrict. Highly recommend other guests avoid them.

Our family of four stayed here, and the bunk beds and room set up worked perfectly for us. We felt less cramped in the bedroom area than we did at other hotels, and we loved the towel heater, lantern for night walking, and the quiet and lovely location, which was perfect for a family looking to walk the trails.

Nice Situation and great you can take your dog
Great that you could take your dog to a hotel, the room was clean and the bathroom a good size. We paid top top dollar and for that I would not rate it as highly as if we had paid the £129 it was advertised for on the day we arrived on a site as we paid £248 a night. The situation is lovely and would presume if you were on the corner being close to the road that would not be an issue. We had a room with a view so would not pay the extra. Our bedroom was apparently a king size, glad I am not nearer 6ft tall as my feet certainly would be over the end of the bed. The rooms was clean and tidy as was the bathroom and the staff we encountered were all very pleasant. The down side, the room was beyond hot on a mild autumn day, the bathroom has been refurbished but the shower is awful, its what I would class as an old fashioned square with a large step up, when getting in\out the door only half opens so you have to access sideways and getting out reach across to the radiator to balance yourself. The food was okay but we decided to only eat 1 and not 2 nights, the fashion is to scan the QR code for the menu and the site was down so as 1 was gluten free after getting the paper allergen copy off the staff and a lot of backwards and forwards to the bar to ask yet another questions I placed the orders, 1 was missed off when the meals arrived and so got theirs after we had all started. All in all lovely location just needs more attention to service and still would not pay £248p\n

This hotel is just a gem! Love the location of it - right on the lake, quiet and safe. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The restaurant on the premises is a big plus. The staff is super friendly! Highly recommend this place. Will book again next time we are in the area.

Loved our stay in Coniston. Great food and drinks and the views were amazing. Loved the dogs everywhere and being able to walk from the Inn into town. If you can make it up the Old Man, it's worth the effort. Lovely part of the world! Thanks!

Great family stay with breakfast included
We booked a family room which had a king and a set of bunkbeds. Perfect for family travel! Food was excellent and we loved being able to eat dinner on property and have breakfast included. Very clean and well decorated. Special place!

Weekend in Lakes
Lovely hotel, v spacious room. Had been contacted beforehand to warn of scaffolding and advise we would get a discount which was much appreciated. I think we got a larger room than we booked whivh was also great. Lots of parking, good location, eay walk to village/lake. Food in hotel at eve amd breakfast was very good, great choice of drinks and even 20% off for NHS staff!! Only feedback would be our room was very warm even when we left windows open all day/night and no heating on which for March was a surprise ebven on a sunny weekend. Staff were lovely and welcoming, really helpful and friendly.

Pros - beautiful setting beside water with great view of Old Man Coniston. Lovely walks in every direction. Plenty of excellent outdoor seating and parking. Relaxed dining. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Great nights sleep in quiet location. Very helpful Tourist Information nearby. Cons - not happy to be told on check in that our room wouldn’t be serviced during our stay. Evening meals served lukewarm, which was a shame as food very good.
